Updated My Forge Map - A Light in the Black

I made some changes which I think greatly help the gameplay on my map, I’ll list the substantial ones below.

  • Opened up the shotgun room, now there are platforms leading to it. You have to switch worlds mid jump to use said platforms.

  • Added a visual indicator in the hallways to better navigate

  • Changed placement of Dynamo Grenades to require traversing both worlds to obtain

  • More light probes for better lighting

  • Visual effects added when you warp between worlds

If you have any comments about how else I can improve it, let me know  Hope you enjoy.

That’s very clever.

I’ll have to try this with my Tuesday night custom buddies.

Thank yo. Hope you all enjoy

@SuperKittyLeia

We did all enjoy!

It took a few minutes to get the hang of it… but towards the end of the game people were starting to time their phases to be more offensive strategically as opposed to just trying to escape.

It got a thumbs up from the guys - and they want to play it again next week!

Thank you!

Congratulations. Mint Blitz had just promoted your map!

Reminds of this Halo 5 map. How are these maps constructed?

Hopefully SuperKittyLeia can confirm…

But I imagine there are two separate areas on the maps - side by side. Same dimensions but different aesthetics, doors, power ups etc.

On activating your power up you are simply teleported to the same relative spot in the different map. eg. 500 units to the left or right.

Very clever.

Yeah, it’s actually 320.02 to be exact. I know, odd distance apart, I initially placed floors that were 500x500 right next to each other using magnets, but I decided to make it smaller, and once I scaled them down, it came down to 320.02. I actually think vertical might have made better with how objective markers work, but I’m not changing it now other than minor things, as I like to think a map takes on a mind of its own when you’re building it. If that makes sense.

And thanks for the complement. Hope you enjoy.

This is why I enjoy Halo forge maps. Anyone can just turn the game upside down, and be fun. Ty

This is why I never gave up with this game. It has a solid foundation, it just needed a little more, and forge/customs gave give it that. Glad you like it.
