I’m just making a topic because I feel like there needs to be a serious redesign to this Xbox Live reputation system. Mainly because this has affected practically half of my friends and now myself as well. A lot of my friends and I, are relatively above average at Halo because we’ve been playing for 8-9 years. Me personally, the only time I use the block/report feature is when I get what they call “booters” in my game and they cheat. Unfortunately, Halo MCC has spawned this new generation of gamers that do this thing called “dodging.” Essentially, if they can’t beat someone or you play a game in a multi-game playlist that the other team doesn’t like to play, then they block you. Enough people block you, and your rep goes down…
This is extremely unfair because it makes it harder to find games in over all of Xbox LIVE and punishes me just because I happen to be good with the controller in my hands… I can assure you I have never cheated a day in my life. Also, with the amount of harassment I constantly get in game chat just for being a girl, I literally never speak in game chat, so I’m 100% positive that it can’t be anything I’ve ever said to anybody.
This needs to be changed. Just my thoughts/venting frustration.

I completely agree, the same thing has happened to me. I find the easiest way to get out of the red is to play a game with join session in progress as a feature. This way friends with good rep can be joined and then you can play the game. If you have titanfall, give me an add, I like playing that game and am always on rep boosting lol.
It’s really stupid. It hasn’t happened to me but I have heard of it happening quite a bit - blocks shouldn’t influence rep, only getting reported. My 2 cent.
Yeah it is way to easy to abuse. They really need to rethink it. My rep has never been affected but I stopped playing the ranked playlist as well. I have 4 reports against me and they were from when I was playing ranked playlist. It’s pretty clear if you are better than some one they report/block you.

MCC is so over hosted.P2P…That a lot off people have to take 10 15 20 head shots and 4 nads to kill you compared to your 4 5 6 7 head shots or body shots. Iv been there several times. H3 is unplayable. every one says lead your shots. But when it takes 15 shots to the head and 2 nads to kill some one AFK. Somethings wrong. When it takes a hole team of 4 on 1 to kill that one person, when it takes 10 shots to the back of the head in CE and they turn around and hit you once to kill you, they think your cheating. They don’t understand that its P2P.and block you.

Yup. This is the reason why so many people getting reported for cheating! I have no doubts about it.

Alot of these unvocal majority people wont realise what p2p host advantages do/mean… These players will be reporting other players because they truely believe they were cheated, and in a way they are right, MCC is not competitive or fair, hosts have huge advantages, So we cant blame people for reporting possible cheats if what they see with their own eyes is being shot through walls, And players soaking up 12 headshots etc without dying. Its the fact that decent players are being instantly punished through rep, guilty until proven innocent seems to be the problem.

Because I am pretty sure something glitched with the rep this weekend. I got from green back to red instandly without being reported once. Now I am back to green over night. No yellow or orange at all.
More people than usual are complaining on Team Beyond, Gears Forums and my friendlist then ever before.
But yeah, it has to change anyway. Its like YouTube with dislike buttons only and you cant upload videos anymore after 10 thumbs down.

Yes, I found out I went from Green to Yellow on Thursday… And now after reading this post, I just looked and now I’m back to green… Hmmm… But then again, last night my friend told me Destiny tower hopping is a good way to fix it and I hopped in about 40 towers last night as well and I didn’t check it before going to the gym.
Either way though, yes, like you said, it needs to be changed. A lot of my friends who’ve I helped get legit 50s with in H2A for example are getting blocked whenever they win games (I don’t have a 50 lol, I just play with them at that level because I can play against those levels no problem). It’s really bad these days and I wouldn’t be surprised if it happened to me to because whenever I go into Hardcore/Doubles, I always pick Halo 2 and people just back out or quit after being down 5-0 or something. I shouldn’t be punished for being good at a video game. That’s all I’m saying. It’s ridiculous!
Nobody should be punished for winning a game, that’s disgraceful. What should happen, is that the butthurt person who files the false report should be punished. They shouldn’t be allowed to get away with reporting you just for losing to you.

I’ve been reported for cheating 13 times?!?! Hahaha what?! XD I would love to see ONE clip/screenshot or anything that will show me cheating… I don’t need to cheat to win in Halo and unlike a lot of people on MCC, when I lose, I lose. I take my loss and get better from it. I don’t cry and quit because I’m losing by 3 kills in the first 30 seconds of the game. I was also reported 4 times for unsporting… 1 time for messaging, and 1 time for voice… I rarely ever respond to the crap ton of spam messages I get and I’m always nice to people I don’t know… and I have never talked in game chat a single time except once when the game first came out and that was a lot longer than 6 months ago.
apparently pro gamers are having to make alternate accounts because they are getting so much bad rep they can’t find any players in matchmaking. It’s such a poorly thought out system that a few bad reviews can completely screw your matchmaking experience
My reputation on the 360 was 92% negative if I recall correctly. I suffered the same fate as you on Halo 3. Never had a problem finding a match though because there were so many gamers playing the game.
Mine is in red too now. Was green yesterday. I occasionally lag out of games so I hope that doesn’t count as quitting. Anyone found out a way to fix this? Can’t get into a match in multiple games (Halo, BF4, NHL15)
Yep just got a message from xbox live this morning telling me my rep is down to “needs work” due to people reporting me for god knows what because I don’t cheat.
I play solo without a mic and don’t trash talk or send hate messages, even though I receive them now and then.
lol what the hell is going on? So many people having this issue now. -Yoink!- better get their -yoink- together because this is how you lose customers. I have the new Gears of War and I cant play it online.
So apparently in August last month I was reported 7 times.
5 times for being Unsporting , 1 time for cheating and 1 time for voice (even though I don’t use a mic?)
What a load of BS, seriously cheating ? Sounds like people cant take being beat in games these days.
I really hope Microsoft is doing something about this.
