I finally picked up Halo 5 and of course I figured I would have some sort of update required but the length was near unreasonable and ridiculous. I’m wondering if this the norm with Halo 5 updates in general? Not that it matters nor do they care but I reviewed the game with a docked score just based on excessive time required to wait just to play the game. It made it feel like I was living in the age of dial-up again minus the awesome 90’s cartoons.
That’s what happens when you buy a game that’s had multiple content updates, you have to download all the new patches that have released.
Welcome to modern gaming! Why finish a game when you can release it half done and update it as you go?
Well, with two major dlc updates since October, you were sitting on about 20GBs worth of updates. At least, that’s what I’ve been told. Is it incredibly frustrating to wait that long? Absolutely. But it’ll be over soon enough. If you were wondering, though, the game didn’t come like that. I still think they should put the dlc on the disc now, since it’s free and always will be, but that might be too much work for them. Don’t dock its score based on the wait time, though, as that would be doing it an injustice. The campaign is pretty mediocre, but the multiplayer’s awesome.
Hoped this helped.
Fair enough. I had played it at a buddies a fair amount and figured I should finally picked it up since it was 20 bucks. I did also finally grab a XB1 along with a handful of games. Halo obviously being one of them but also Fallout 4, Madden 16, Witcher 3 and Tomb Raider. All of their combined updates times were nothing compared to Halo 5, lol

Oh, you mean like how it was with Halo 2? Except with the latter not being a viable option?

Well at least they can do this then release a half -Yoink- game and not update it like in the past…

Don’t be alarmed if you end up seeing the percentage go well beyond 100%. Or even 1000%.
From my personal experience, just wait it out.
if you just bought the game and already are making a thread complaining about nonsense
then…that’s your community #)
should have saved the money》game sucks /sarcasm
nah no offense op #) and have fun
343 has gotten into the habit of releasing the multiplayer portion of the game separately from the disc. Why? Not a clue. Probably more convenient than bothering with compression.
