update taking too long to download

Anyone having a problem with the 9gb patch???

Took me 12 hours to download, but I finally got it. I was mad because this is the first Halo launch that I missed out on even though I pre-loaded the game digitally. I really wish I had faster Internet.

If you are able to, I highly recommend running a network cable from your modem/router to your Xbox. You will see much greater speeds than trying to download a 9GB patch over wireless.

I’m at 90% after an hour. Still can’t play though. Normally it’s Ready To Start appears after 20% on my console. Guess an hour isn’t too bad but I’m getting bored and sleepy. Lol.

I was directly plugged in to my modem and it still took 12 hours. Not fun. :frowning:

91% for me and still waiting…

89% now. It seems to be going a whopping 1% per 20 min…

Honestly downloading the 9 gb was not really long for me it only took me about 3 hours

Done disc install & 9gb patch in under an hour; was expecting take longer but was pleasantly surprised.

Took me an hout and a hald and that’s on fios…There the ones with the problem not you

Hey, 343/Microsoft, thanks for the 9gb update upon launch. Not everyone has the fastest Internet connection, so this update is taking excruciatingly long to download. It would’ve been great if you could’ve gotten the game completely correct and ready to go upon launch. Isn’t that what a “launch” should be? We should be able to take it out of the case, pop it in and play. Instead we have to wait hours for an update to install.

Furthermore, the update was specifically for online play. I’m of the old school of gamers who don’t immediately jump right into online gameplay and prefer to play thru the story mode first. With this inane update, I can’t even play story mode initially.

Because of this debacle, even before I play the game, Halo 5 receives one less star than it should merit. Next time, make sure your ducks are in order before you release a game, 343. At least give your fan base a few weeks before the first major update. But what do you care? You’ve already made your money from a countless amount of pre-order sales and the hype surrounding the game. I wonder if Bungie would ever let such a fiasco happen.

$60.00, all of this bullcrap and I still can’t even play this game. Allow me to plug in my Super Nintendo and play an entertaining game that doesn’t take 4+ hours after purchase to play.

Wow, somebody is a whiny child. Can’t handle a download huh? Besides this seems to be happening to only a small amount of people. You posting that comment on a simple small thread like this makes you look like a complete crybaby. Go play your Nintendo, I’m enjoying something much better called Halo 5.

Update. So appearantly it was downloading the game and update at the same time, and with my poor-ish internet, the time that it took was not bad at all.

Someone please help

Help me please, I’ve done the actual game installation by itself because i called xbox to help with that, because like you said they were going at the same time, but now when i do the update by its self (btw I’m on instant mode of that helps) its doing about a 1% every half an hour and i know my internet isn’t that bad?? Also if i leave my internet on and i turn my xbox off will it still update? Any help would be greatly appreciated
