Update Suggestions?

GENERAL

  • Steam Workshop support.
  • Full custom controller button remapping.
  • Universal skull list (full skull list added to all games, with exceptions for titles that don’t have certain content (Flood not being present in the ODST and Reach campaigns, Brutes not being present in H1 or H4, etc.)
  • More improvements to co-op server connections. Down with desync!
  • Veto system and post-game party-up options added to matchmaking lobbies.
  • Campaign Matchmaking Browser, like what Reach had with the co-op campaign playlist.
  • Spartan Ops Matchmaking Browser.
  • Score Attack Firefight playlist added (on weekly rotation, switching between 1p and Firefight Doubles)

ODST

  • Every ODST Firefight map getting a (Day) and (Night) version. IMO, Lost Platoon (Night) would be one of the best content additions 343i could ever do with ODST.
  • More characters added to ODST customization: at least four different H3 Marines, all four members of Fireteam Raven, CMDR Miranda Keyes, H3 Marine Pilot, FADM Terrence Hood, UEG dockworker (seen on The Storm level in H3). Still is baffling why Fireteam Raven didn’t get added into ODST in their titular MCC update.

Halo 3

  • More Forge “quality of life” updates… maybe full introduction of the capabilities shown in the ED trailer.
  • Standalone Gauss Turret (as seen in ODST) added to H3 Forge.
  • Player-controllable Pelican and Phantom added to H3 Forge.
  • Longsword strike fighter (with internals as in H1) added to H3 Forge.
  • Reactor and Skybridge multiplayer maps added to Halo 3 MP.
  • Pilot helmet + Alpha-Nine ODST armor permutation components added to Halo 3 customization.
  • Missing SPARTAN armor permutations from Halo Online added to Halo 3 customization.

Reach

  • Diamondback map added to Reach MP.
  • Zealots added to Reach Firefight
  • Drones added to Reach Firefight
  • Player control enabled for Pelican, Phantom, and Spirit dropships in Reach Forge
  • Standalone Gauss Turret imported to Reach Forge
  • Standalone Rocket Turret added to Reach Forge
  • Onager turret added into Reach Forge (that should be exciting to contend with in skybattle CTF maps)
  • Preserve armor permutation added.

WISHFUL THINKING

  • Universal SPARTAN armor permutations standardized throughout Halo 3, Reach, and Halo 4. This includes armor effects as well.
  • Universal armor color palettes throughout all titles (H1, H2, H3, ODST, Reach, H4).
  • Universal texture skins added for all UNSC / Covenant / Forerunner weapons throughout all titles (H1, H2, H3, ODST, Reach, H4); exceptions given for potentially conflicting repetitions. For example, if someone wants to rock Great Journey on every UNSC weapon from Halo 1 to Halo 4, let it be so.
  • Universal texture skins added for all UNSC / Covenant vehicles, aircraft; exceptions given for conflicting repetitions, etc.
  • Envy Skull added to Halo 3 (and maybe Halo CE); flashlight functionality turned into active camouflage functionality.
  • The commissioning and organization of a Community Coordination Council to officially add a very carefully curated amount of community-created content into the base game every six months for a trial period of two years. (Sort of offset by official Steam Workshop support on PC, but it is a peaceable offering(?) to the console community, who are unlikely to ever be able to utilize modded content.)

CONSOLIDATION: H2A → H4

  • Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer rolled up and folded/ported into Halo 4.
    • H2A MP game-type options added to H4 game-type settings
    • H2A MP Spartan customization options added to H4
    • H2A MP weapons and vehicles added to H4’s sandbox
    • H2A MP maps added to H4 map pool, etc
    • Further H2A MP content could then be added by the community by utilizing the H4 mod tools

CONSOLIDATION: ELITES

  • Elite/Sangheili armor customization + preferred character model options removed from Halo 2 Multiplayer, Halo 2 Anniversary Multiplayer, and Halo 3.
    • Comprehensive update to Halo 3’s campaign. Arbiter permanently assigned to AI control. In co-op, Players 2-4 have the appearance of their multiplayer SPARTANs, and spawn with the same weapons as Player 1 when applicable.
    • All multiplayer Elite armor customization options are subsequently configured for and re-implemented/added to Reach. Due to limitations, mix-and-match between harness types remains disabled.

Add H3 Lone Wolves back to MCC Competitive playlists

Online co-op campaign matchmaking.

If I had to have one feature it would be this.

Im surprised it was not implemented yet

I am 100% against this personally, Halo 3 is the only title that has a unique named character for each player in co-op (Master Chief, Arbiter, N’tho 'Sraom and Usze 'Taham), replacing that with player made Spartans would just make it like Reach and remove some of the unique feel of Halo 3.

Also removing the choice to play as an elite in Halo 2 and 3 multiplayer just to move the models over to Reach is a horrible idea, they are there as a fun choice and help Halo 2 & 3 stand out above the sea of Halo games that limit you to playing as a Spartan only.
I feel like the only reason we haven’t been able to play as Elites in newer titles for over a decade now is purely because the devs are under the delusion that Halo is supposed to be a competitive game instead of a fun party game which just isn’t the case…

If anything playable Elites should be added to Halo CE & Halo 4 multiplayer, not removed from Halo 2 and Halo 3.

Some elite armor for 2A and reach! Please please 343 give some care for elites once and a while, other than that some maps for 2A and no more updates for 3, I personally think halo 3 is overrated and reach, 2A, are way more fun! So some love for reach and 2A would be nice

On top of that add Honor Guard, Councilor, Heretic and Jet Pack Elite armour to Halo 2 Classic multiplayer :wink:

Halo 3: ODST Slayer.

Add it as a game mode in Halo 3 Action Sack and make it a rotational game mode.

Also bring back 5v5. A lot of maps in the 4v4 playlist feel too empty.
