Ok when I first heard about Squad commands and the fact that they had Clone Commando’s lead behind it I got super excited. I have always wanted squad commands to help keep my AI partners alive in previous games. Even when I saw the live demo I was still excited. But when the unfinished Halo 5 came out and I used the one button “move/use” command I was so let down. No rally up, hold position or individual commands really left the Squad useless. You control all at once and If you tell them, “hey take that high ground” so you can flank once they reach that point they scurry back to you… then all the enemies are focused on that position. All you can do is say hey go attack that and while they are getting it pushed in you can finally come kill stuff and revive everyone. Oh and if you are down they all single file to you and die on after another. No cover fire, no grenades to push back the enemy that downed you, no military cohesion that you would expect from Spartans trained from 5years of age would apply to the battlefield. So if you guys at 343 can update campaign please take this into consideration.
- “Cover me while I get him up” Not a command, just add a set of executables that depending on how many Spartans are up, near and shields down or up that can set up the best cover situation so the one Spartan reviving can actually get you up more often. - “Chose Spartan” Simple right tap on D pad to tell certain Spartan to listen to order. Or have one D pad direction for each teammate. - “Hold here” Spartan giving the command holds position until told to rally, give them a general area around the hold position as to adjust for sightlines and enemy fire. - “Rally up” All Spartans form up and drop last order. All these can be done on a D pad without hurting controls and how about some Kinect support as an option since a lot of us actually have one and use it everyday. I’ve used them in other games and it worked for 360 Kinect fine. This Kinect is way better
