So you’ve “fixed” the weapons in the sandbox to make them best for their intended uses, but when will you fix matchmaking? I was playing in focused and if it’s like it says “Narrow search to find the best match on your your fireteam’s skill and connection” then the matches would be closer be the skill gap would be smaller, right? No, unsurprisingly I get matched on the short end of the stick, now seeems like it’s the usual, with bad teammates against smurfs and better players. The season restarted and I wanted to get the ranks I personally believe I can achieve with my skill level but now I’m doubting it because I’m handicapped by the MM system.
The qualifiers are always chaos for me. After i rank its usually better.
The simple fact is that those options don’t take everything into account. It only does what it can. It looks at stats of a player and compares it to others. You can get around the system by “reverse boosting” which involves dying repeatedly getting minimal kills. I’ve done this before and it is definitely a problem.
The Focused, Balanced, and Expanded options relate primarily to latency issues as in opening or restricting the amount of Data Centers that you could use; though, the Focused option will also prevent you from being drawn into a match lobby that’s at the outer spectrum of allowable skill differential – at least until you’ve actually gone through the matchmaker’s progressive process that widens the parameters over the search period. With the Balanced and Expanded search options the matchmaker may add you to a match lobby with a skill differential that’s wider than where your particular search progress would have had you currently searching at. The reasoning for this is to help reduce the amount of timed out searches and in turn reduce the search times; plus, for some people to actually find matches to play in.

I genuinely despise the game during those 10 matches. Well, maybe 5 out of 10 of them. The other 5 are fine. It goes from “what the hell? This is the stupidest, most unbalanced, one-sided nonsense game ever made” to “yeah, this is fine” to “you got to be kidding me!” to “man I’m awesome” to “maybe I’m getting too old for this” to “Gold 3? What?!?!” lol

Then if I’m playing on focused why is it still so laggy. And the answer is the servers. I don’t get why they different search types if all of the servers are terrible. I’ve played matches on expanded that are better than matches on focused and vise versa.
