How about a max fireteam size 1 warzone playlist

I don’t think 343 wants to divide the population any more than they need to. In addition, small fireteams being limited to their own playlist creates dramatically longer search times as a game can’t be found for say, a party of 7, until a time when a party of 5 decides to search. It creates a lot of niche parameters that the current population size can’t sustain. It’s much easier to just force-match parties based on size, so a 12 man team will always match other searching large parties first, and then pull randoms to fill any open space. Sometimes it can be hard to visualize, so here’s an example. Lets say a 12 man party is searching for a match, and the current players looking for a match are:
1 9-man party
2 7-man parties
2 3-man parties
100 solo playersThe matchmaking system will immediately pull the 9-man lobby against the 12 man lobby, and then go down the list and pull the 3-man lobby to fill in the last 3 open slots. Parties vs Parties are prioritized. It would require some algorithm tweaking, but is the ultimate most sustainable solution for the game. As it stands, 343 are currently killing their own community, teams are unable to play and are falling apart. After this betrayal, a lot of the players they are ousting from their game will never come back to Halo.
Thank You, I consider myself a good player but against a 12-man fireteam, I’m screwed.

I’m not trying to be rude, but if you don’t want to play with a team, you don’t want to communicate, strategize, and reach your full potential as a competitor in large TEAM playlist, why should everyone who does be punished for it? Outside of 1v1 customs for bragging rights and FFA modes, Solo play has never been a predominate part of Halo’s multiplayer. It’s a team-based shooter where Raw skill must be used in conjunction with teamwork, teamshot, and communication in order to win games. Obviously you shouldn’t be forced to go above and beyond to hone those aspects of your game-play to become a better competitor, but why should the portion of the population that does try to get better and actually fully invest in all aspects of becoming better competitors be punished because some people don’t want to put that work in?
Obviously you don’t stand a chance with just your raw skill against a 12 man team because every single one of them has teamwork, communication, and teamshot skills, which is 3/4 of what “Skill” is in Halo. The idea people have that they are “Good at Halo” simply because they can put the reticule on people consistently is inherently flawed. I know our team spent 10-15 hours a week watching game film of losses and adjusting strategies over and over for months until we had a formula that really worked, and even then we could be beaten, because most of our players don’t have that overwhelming raw skill, we just worked hard for years to master the teamwork and strategy aspects of the game. Getting farmed sucks, I play alone and get farmed almost every night. I get it. But instead of feeling spiteful, I go watch the film and I figure out ways to break their starts the next time around. Then I get on with my team and I go compete against them with the knowledge I gained. I don’t whine about how other people have mastered the game over me, I get better. Teams shouldn’t be punished for being too good. Those players on the best teams have spent thousands of hours mastering Halo.
Finally i can get my clan in this

He has a point you cant just be a good player by yourself you need a team.
Does anyone know when the next update is coming out

343 would know the number of solo players to the amount of people playing in a group and see if it’s viable. It would be interesting to know since they seem hell-bent to have people playing in groups yet kill split-screen.

WZ is a 24 man game, and if you have an 11 man team versus a 12 man there will have to be a random put in on the 11 man team. Unless the min player count is reduced ever so slightly. The game will still always make the match full unless the pop is basically nothing.
What’s more amazing is that the solo noobs quit in the middle of the game when they start losing…then ur playing with half a team they should return WZ back to where u can have ur own 12 man teams that way u have players who won’t quit
Nice

Not sure if people just aren’t playing it as often or if you’re wrong.
I played 3 games in a row where it was 12 v 9, the last game got 2 people in making it 12 v 11 in the last few minutes of the game. Kind of ruins everything when it’s 12 v 9, there’s little to no chance that the 9 player team will win. Instead I just listened to some guy whine the whole time about how we all sucked, gratned as a level 12 player myself coming in 5th in a team of 2 50s, 1 6 or 9 not sure anymore, 1 12 (me), 1 80s, 4 100+s, we maybe did suck, since I scored higher than some of the 100s. But still, our 9 man team never got filled up. I can’t believe that in 2 hours we couldn’t fill up our side even once.
I don’t know how they determine how to get people into the game, but it seems that if a game is in progress they likely try to put people in non-progressed games instead of in-progress games. Which on one side makes sense cause no one wants to come in play for like 10-20 seconds and then get a you failed mission over screen cause they came in right at the end, but on the other hand, having a team down a quarter of their people against a full team… that seriously bites something major.

If we were actually the minority, there would be no HCS. 343 is obviously trying to justify making changes to cater to the casual audience. It sucks that they appear to have been very dishonest in achieving that end. When only you have access to the data, this kind of thing happens. Fortunately, the halo community is full of very bright people.

Bahahahahahahahaha!!!
“the most active monthly users since halo 3”
Anyone else remember that one?
I also can no longer get 11 of my friends and participate in the largest scale MP to date in Halo.A broken promise is a lie.
The entire campaign propaganda?
The only thing they don’t lie about is financials. They keep those to themselves because Microsoft is a publicly traded company. To lie about that would be criminal. Literally.

So you’re saying that solo players aren’t the majority, and that by 343 saying this - they’re lying to everyone , to annoy the in actual fact MAJORITY of players who always play in large fireteams?
why do you think that would be the case? In your opinion, why lie to the MAJORITY of your user base?

Outside of 1v1 customs for bragging rights and FFA modes, Solo play has never been a predominate part of Halo’s multiplayer. It’s a team-based shooter where Raw skill must be used in conjunction with teamwork, teamshot, and communication in order to win games. Obviously you shouldn’t be forced to go above and beyond to hone those aspects of your game-play to become a better competitor, but why should the portion of the population that does try to get better and actually fully invest in all aspects of becoming better competitors be punished because some people don’t want to put that work in?

It sucks that they appear to have been very dishonest in achieving that end. When only you have access to the data, this kind of thing happens. Fortunately, the halo community is full of very bright people.

Because they have the numbers all to themselves and they can say whatever they want. But nothing is confirmed and I could be wrong.
There are some pretty great people at 343i so I’m not totally sold on the idea that anyone at 343i could even get far enough with an idea to tell us something that is less than factual. We all know that grim, Ske7ch, Bravo, tom, and so many others would absolutely stand up and fight it. HOWEVER, if a lie shrouds itself behind an agreeable cause like keeping the new players from getting stomped all day by the rest of us or simply keeping the game alive, it becomes much less likely that anyone would challenge it. So I can’t really see 343i just straight up lying to it’s players in any nefarious way.
Edited because I made a typo. Also because I wanted to say that 343i is pretty great and they tend to do what they can so don’t take what I said as gospel. I’m merely speculating… On the internet, with strangers.
