Doom is pretty much a remake of its previous and doesn’t even have a sequel, or a yearly progression. Its a good game that falls out.
And no game is copying another game, just different versions of it. You could literally say Doom is copying CoD since you have to level up to gain the gun’s colors.
If you’re running around with flower shouldesr or ice horns is one thing. But I use what I find appropriate. As you see in my cores, its usually just red/blue flames or holo wrist/visor.
Overall though, I’m not seeing effects as game-ruining as attachments. You can only put on one after all. If you say its not immersive or “not part of the Halo universe” (Nobody said the expansion of the Halo universe ends after Halo 3) You might as well say there is no such thing as a pink spartan.
no it’s totally it’s own game in the series, im just pointing out the similarities not trying to be like “oh they’re just copying, bunch of copy cats” but i feel halo should’ve learned from doom on how to handle cosmetics.
It should’ve just learned from itself and did want it had done before, but better. The customization options have never been better than Halo 4. The pieces to use for those options may not have been the best, but the options were definitely the best.
Lol, it’s sad, but true. The original Mark V, I only ever used it because of the HCS coating. If I hadn’t gotten that Twitch drop, I probably wouldn’t be motivated to touch that core. It was a REALLY long time before I found another coating I also like on it: Gold.
I just want cross core coatings at this point and today’s news article about customization said nothing about it. Seems like cross core is dead going forward. Coatings were the least they could do. ( I guess visors were actually the most they could do. )
Coatings is still all I really desperately want. At least some helmets between cannon cores would be nice and shouldn’t be too hard. Anything after that anything would be a bonus but would obviously take more work and I’m not convinced it’s the best use of their time.
Yeah that’s a glitch that started with the winter update. It’s one of the things that has given people hope that they’re working on it. I had a game where two guys quit halfway through and bots took their place. The bots were both wearing Mk V with the Mk VII helmet.
Really we should be able to get everything cross core. It’d look fine. The pieces that wouldn’t fit that well across the cores is mainly the wrist and utility attachments. They’re made for specific geometry of each arm or leg they’re supposed to be attached to.
I think all the shoulders and knee pads would have the same issue too. I’ts not that I don’t want them to make more of them cross core. It’s just that it will obviously take more work to make them fit correctly and I personally would rather they focused on simpler cross core items and new content for now at least.
I don’t mean that they couldn’t be fitted just that the specific position and required movement pattern would be specific to the each core based on the shape of the armour around the shoulder joint.
Not really. Basically all the shoulders would be fine. They just need to be placed on the shoulder in the same position as the other core (mostly) and it’ll work. There’s not a big difference between each rig for the suit and attachment placement.
The only real thing that might be stopping them is trying to keep some pieces from clipping the chest. I however say forget that/why care? Stuff already clips for each core. Just give us the customization we deserve. Not this hyper tailored, restrictive and unfavorable system.
I would have thought that would be a bit rough for some of the larger ones. They tend to already have minor clipping issues on the one core already. Some of the smaller ones should be okay like that.
I guess the easier option then is to just do a test with the same positioning/movement data on each core. If it looks okay then send it. If not set it aside for a rework at a later date.
Exactly. And heck like I said, stuff already clips. An example is the yorie core. The default helmet clips the back plate of the chest and most of the shoulders clip into the chest during normal gameplay.
I mean both the current fracture cores armors would clip. And to be honest I don’t really see what the big deal would be just letting it clip. We have literally had tons of armor every game that clips ever since Halo 3. Clipping just really isn’t that big of a deal while you’re in gameplay. It’s not something that you’re going to notice while you’re playing. So as long as it’s not clipping while you’re in the customization menu then it’s going to look just fine. (And as I’ve stated before some of the stuff in infinite already clips while in the customization menu)
