Update marine AI in Halo 5?

Halo 4 has some pretty terrible AI when it came to the marines. They drove extremely horrible even compared to Kat. At least Kat could drive fast while the marines/spartans drove about 1 mile an hour. Then they shot at dead body’s for insane amounts of time. Even in combat the marines would shoot dead bodies for some reason. Past marines would shoot dead bodies but not this long and they would do it when out of combat.

Maybe add some health to the marines too. They die extremely fast and don’t last that long in combat compared to past halo games. I was playing some 3 and Reach today and the AI was pretty solid. The marines/army troopers would last longer and were capable of killing enemies. I decided and stay back and watch as the AI fought and 3/reach marines did really good, I saw 2 marines take on about 8 grunts, 5 jackals and 2 brutes alone on normal. Meanwhile on Halo 4 it took 6 marines to kill 1 promethean knight and 3 crawlers.

I know what you’re saying about the dead bodies thing. I’ve experienced marines not shooting anything in a warthog until the enemy was all up in your grill. They would, however, find a dead body half-way across the map and continue to constantly shoot at it.

All the AI in Halo 4 was horribly horrible.
The enemies were dumb and dull making the gameplay boring and predictable.
The friendlies were also very dumb making them more like cannon fodder instead of actual help.

So they really need to fix the AI 'til Halo 5.

As far as friendly AIs go, I’ve yet to see an halfway decent one in any Halo title. I don’t think it’s honestly high up on the game programming priority list, nor do I think it should be. I think its about time Halo had a new mechanism for guiding vehicles (like warthogs) wherein you’re just a gunner and not the actual driver.

As for the enemy AI, I found H4’s to be a step backward from past titles. Still waiting for a Halo where the enemy actually has situational awareness and attacks you (instead of letting their squads get picked off from a distance, one by one).

This really is nothing new. Also that was normal difficulty and the knights tend to like teleporting while crawlers tend to be very quick (seriously, those things can be hard to keep track of)

Halo 2’s friendlies were actually really good. In my experience while fighting through High Charity on “Gravemind”, I gave all 5 marines carbines and alone (with no casualties) they took out two hunters, and made it to the end of the level.

On Legendary btw.

I think the Halo 2/3 Marines were the best. They had great AI and health and i think they had similar AI. Even on legendary on 3 the marines were pretty tough. I saw a marine fight a brute 1v1 on legendary and the marine won and he survived until a jackal killed him with a beam rifle. Halo Reach Ai was a little worse with the driving and they didn’t last as long as the Halo 2/3 marines.

Also maybe if 343 updates the Ai maybe they could change the marines’s appearance? i didn’t really like the Tan, White and the pink… errr Lightish Red colors. Maybe ditch the White and Red and use Tan and Green. Just my opinion.

The marines need to have the same AI as halo 2/3 but I’m sure 343 is more than capable of making an even better AI. Halo 4s AI was a joke. No comparison to halo 1, 2, and 3. They also need to look like the marines in halo combat evolve anniversary or reach. Just Futuristic really. Halo 4 marines just looked outdated. The halo universe is in the 2500s but still uses the same 2000s marine uniforms. There is nothing futuristc about them what so ever.

I’d say upgrade marines AI

Sadly Marines Were barely even seen in Halo 5 Guardians ;(
