As you know, we are probably going to be having a few more updates for Halo 5. So I decided to make this thread to share ideas for future updates. I know I have quite a few! Here are some:
A new warzone map, located on Genesis, would be pretty cool.
Brute weapons! We never can have enough, can we?
The return of the sticky detonator! This was (And still is) my all-time favorite weapon. I was unhappy to see they did not have it in Halo 5. Maybe bring it back?
More stances!
More assassinations!
Maybe some weapon skins that have graffiti on them, that would be kind of cool.
HAYABUSA ARMOR! WE NEED IT!!!
Here’s a description for an update/content drop that I’d like to see.
Ghosts of Onyx:
Armor/Helmets:
-SPI (Legendary): - Helmet: Semi-Powered Infiltration helmets provide a feed of information similar to their MJOLNIR counterparts at a portion of the cost, making them a prime choice for use by Spartan-IIIs during the Human-Covenant War. - Armor: Upgraded from previous iterations of SPI for compatibility with second generation MJOLNIR, this new version of Semi-Powered Infiltration armor is commonly utilized by Spartan-III operatives that have been integrated into the Spartan branch. - ODST [GEN1] Alpha (Legendary, Mythic): - Helmet: Previously used by Orbital Drop Shock Troopers and Spartans throughout the Human-Covenant War, the ODST helmet has been modernized for use with GEN2 MJOLNIR systems. - Armor: Rated for limited operation in vacuum and capable of protecting its wearer from most small-arms fire, the ODST body armor is popular among the former ODSTs augmented by the Spartan-IV program. - ODST [GEN1] Bravo (Legendary, Mythic): - Helmet: One of many variations on the basic ODST battle dress uniform, the Bravo helmet variant was used by certain Spartan-IIIs during the Fall of Reach, as well as ODSTs aboard the UNSC Forward Unto Dawn at the Ark. - Armor: Based on one version of the ODST BDU, the Bravo armor set is derived from one of two Human-Covenant War-era body armor sets.Emblems:
-Team Saber (Ultra Rare)
-Team Gladius (Rare)
-Team Katana (Rare)
Weapons:
-MA5K carbine (Legendary, Level 3): Cut-down version of Misriah Armory’s venerable MA5 series of Assault Rifles. Preferred Assault Rifle of special operations units.
-Aggressor Sentinel Beam (Ultra Rare, Level 5): Fitted on a variation of Aggressor Sentinel encountered on Installation 05, this weapon fires a higher intensity beam for increased effectiveness against Flood forms. Features increased damage at the cost of a slightly lower firing duration.
-Onyx Sentinel Beam (Legendary, Level 6): High-intensity beam used by specialized Sentinels encountered on the Forerunner Shield World Onyx. Improved anti-armor capability, heat dissipation, and range.
Vehicles:
APC Warthog (Rare, Level 3): Recovered from Insurrectionist cells, the APC Warthog features an extended chassis to provide more seating space, in addition to the standard mounted machine gun. - Type-26 Banshee: - Type-26A (Rare, Level 6): The first Banshee variation to be cataloged by the UNSC, the Type-26A served within the Covenant fleet as a scout and assault vehicle. Features unlimited boost time, as well as lower reload time for the Fuel Rod Cannon. - Type-26B (Ultra Rare, Level 7): Another variant of the Type-26 model Banshee, the T-26B was used in during the Fall of Reach, as well as post-war by Jul 'Mdama’s Covenant remnant at Requiem. Features unlimited boost time, as well as an upgraded Fuel Rod Cannon that reloads faster and can lock on to both ground and air targets.Maps:
Warzone: Clash at Onyx: Based on the surface of the Shield World known as Onyx. Includes Sentinels as AI opponents. Some kind of large Forerunner facility as a central base, with UNSC Garages or something as secondary bases. Include an Onyx Sentinel as a Legendary or Mythic boss
Arena: Currahee: Based off of Camp Currahee as described in Ghosts of Onyx.
Notes: ODST [GEN1] Alpha is meant to resemble the ODST armor from Halo 2 Anniversary. Bravo is meant to resemble the variant from Halo 3, ODST, and Reach. Aggressor Sentinel Beam is supposed to be the gold Sentinel Beam from H2. MA5K has a built-in sound suppressor and a scope capable of 2x magnification.

This was beyond extensive, and super impressive. I would absolutely love seeing this as an update, but honestly, it’s something I’d want to see done right in Halo 6. A Warzone map on Onyx shouldn’t feature that home base design from Halo 5.

Thanks. It’s an idea that’s just been stewing around in my head for a couple months, and this is the third (I think. Might even be fourth or fifth) iteration of it that I’ve posted on Waypoint.

I can definitely get behind it. Hopefully it gets picked up. Great work!
I posted this in Warzone Req Energy Level forum but I like it so much I feel like posting it some more.
I think at 3 reqs you should be able to call in a fireteam of 4 Marines w/ARs that follow you and even get in vehicles and they either just appear or for some added coolness, they are dropped off by a pelican. At level 5 you should be able to call in 4 ODSTs with silenced smgs and brs and they are dropped in whereever you want including the pelican bays you are originally dropped in so if you’re defending you can have them come in for support that way if you so choose or you could even drop them in the back of the enemy base so long as their core is vulnerable, making them a rear flank or a distraction. At level 7 you can call in an ODST Sniper squad or maybe a gauss hog with 3 marines in it and it is high end like an urban or something like that and also acts like it has wheelman so it isn’t as easily stolen. You or a teammate can of course opt to kick a marine out and drive, gun, or shotgun and still have a the other Marines in the hog and the other marine or marines that you kick out just assault the nearest enemy base but can also get in an another ally’s vehicle. The hog spawns at a base and will come to you and but when you die or if you die while in the hog, the Marines will automatically start patrolling your nearest base. If at any time the gunner is killed and there is a Marine in the passenger seat than he will automatically jump into the gun. Now if its the sniper than the team of four, two snipers and two spotters with DMRs, can be dropped. When you select ODSTs to be dropped a map pops up and the shaded areas are places you can’t drop which are pretty much only on top of buildings that you as a Spartan can’t reach. Since the fireteams come in 4 than it will show 4 little dots of where their drop pods will be. This goes for in game as well. The announcer will say drop pods incoming (or something to that effect depending on your announcer) and about 5 seconds before they actually hit the ground green or red (friend or foe) markers appear on the ground and there’s a special medal for killing someone with drop pods you called in and another medal for killing a vehicle with the drop pods. Also, the pods hit with tremendous force that could kill just about any vehicle on impact, after all they are giant metal pods with weapons, ammo, (by the way all of the pods carry infinite ammo for starting weapons and a one time grenade resupply for 16 people, 4grenades x 4pods, and if that’s too much for the game to handle than just infinite grenades like a mongoose/gungoose) and of course the pods are only around for like a minute or two then they self destruct but the ODSTs or Marines (whatever you spawn) stay until the die. At level 9 you can either call in a Marine scorpion w/gunner and again it’s a good scorpion with wheelman or maybe two fully manned Oni hogs that drive around together and have wheelman on I’m not sure which cause I feel like the scorpion is too vulnerable to stun and nade but the two hogs don’t seem like enough for 9 reqs but two gauss hogs seem like too much but two rocket hogs is just kind of meh.

Wow man, round of applause - this was very well thought out and something I’d love to see implemented into Halo 6.
EMPEROR NOVA01 A round of applause for you man! You really thought that update concept out. I hope 343i sees that!
I’d like to agree with cdolson as far as a Genesis map update. I’d also love to see the return of the ‘Brute Spiker’ and the ‘Brute Shot.’
I would hope the proposed Genesis map would largely revolve around natural structures, like cliffs and boulders and plants. There would also be limited vehicle paths, the way I’m imagining it.
I imagine the Brute Spiker would be Req level 3, and that it’s melee damage would be that of the ‘knight blade’ attachment. Increased damage, but not enough to kill. (Of course it would kill from behind) It’s level 4 upgraded version would have a slower rate of fire, but more damage, and it’s spikes would go faster. It’s level 5 Req upgrade would have a regular rate of fire, fast spikes that do more damage, and plasma lined melee blades that would basically do the same damage as the energy bayonet.
The Brute Shot would most likely be placed at Req level 5, Maybe 4. I can’t really think of upgraded versions of them now, maybe later though.

I would like the Bases to be forerunner, like spire. But not the exact same. But remember the mission with the double wardens and the answers? That had a decent amount of vehicle space.

Upgraded brute spiker: increased accuracy and rate of fire Req level 3 Rare
Upgraded brute spiker 2: has a homing effect similar to that of the needler, but not as strong, since brute spikers shots fire much faster. Req level 4 ultra rare
Upgraded brute shot: Fires a burst of 2 shots with one pull of the trigger Req level 6 ultra rare
That upgraded brute shot is what I just thought of this afternoon! I swear, that’s what I came here to suggest!
Also, I’m interested in your homing effect for brute spiker* (req level 4 variant). That would be good to see. Any comment on my ‘plasma lined’ blades idea? Too much?
*I like all your brute spiker ideas.

H2 version of the ODST armor - Bruteshot - Spiker - Mauler - Chopper - Prowler - UNSC Hawk or Falcon - Phoenix emblem - Bug fix - Better customization options - FF voices or Call out voices - Duel Wielding - Flamethrower - Just some more armors that don’t already exist in Halo 5, (unless it’s ODST) - Flyable Pelicans and Phantoms (even if you can only do it in Custom Games)
Since we’re well over a year and a half since the original release date, maybe 5-10 Spartan Ops missions could be fun, even if they’re only short and last 10 minutes each.
Maybe in a Spartan Ops mission/new Firefight mode we could fight the Banished’s brutes or maybe some Flood??? Maybe even some new Promethean or even Covenant enemies (Skirmishers and Engineers for example could be added to the Covenant) could be added. I doubt this will come though.
