Hi guys, I was recently thinking about things that 343i could fix in Halo 5, and I’ve even developed a list. However I’m also curious to know what everyone here wants because I bet many of us have similar ideas.
If you want to know what I’m looking to change for Halo 5, Look at these recommendations.

First off, the campaign while enjoyable (if you’re not doing legendary solo), it made the writer in me die a little inside. 343i, what the hell are you doing?! This isn’t Halo 2, and I KNOW you did not pull a Destiny with that ending by selling out with absolutely NOTHING being wrapped up in the story. You don’t play as Blue Team often, 3 or 4 of the hardest missions in the game at most (I really sympathize with the three Warden fight solo legendary people like me) and when you do you get virtually NO character development. Now I know that they’re developed and all pushing at least fifty, but none of them had much to say or do other than become damsels in distress by “Yandere Cortana”. That brings me to my second point, Cortana’s craziness, while it’s sensible, is done so poorly it hurts. The whole “I’m going to make you love me by killing everyone and making them immortal slave AIs” thing she was doing with Chief is so bad, it honestly makes me curious how Chief even put up with that. The legendary ending you ask? Here’s a damn space ring with halo 1 music, credit roll, and title screen. I did not, I repeat, I DID NOT PAY 60 DOLLARS FOR A DESTINY ENDING TO THE STORY ESPECIALLY AFTER THE H2 LEVEL DIFFICULTY OF THE LEGENDARY CAMPAIGN! Fix this, now. Put in a spartan ops 2.0, make a story DLC, whatever, but what is here, is disappointing.2) Maps
-
I’m going to be brutally honest here, aside from three maps in the launch maps; Plaza, Truth, and Colesum, the launch maps were decent at best. I’m not going to mention the multiplayer part of the maps here because I’m going to tear them a new one here in the next sections, but this is by far, the worst selection of maps Halo has had at launch. Removing those three maps, you are stuck with Rig, Fathom, Pegasus, Orion (Removed for some reason), and Regret.A) Rig
-
Aside from the long hall and cat walk areas, the map is one giant cluster crap that if you get the scattershot (literally right next to the camo) you basically have a near guaranteed killing frenzy if you’re smart. I like this map for the close quarters aspect and the Easter Egg, but other than that, it’s meh.B) Regret
-
Nothing much here, it’s a derpy version of Truth with more clamber and more chaos. nuff saidC) Fathom
-
Team slayer: Yes CTF: Yes. SWAT: What are you doing? FFA: OH HELL NAW! More in Multiplayer. However, I do like the openness of the map for the fact that it’s wide enough to pick people off with the Light Rifle or the BR, but closed enough the SMG and the AR have some use. If it wasn’t for the multiplayer part, I’d enjoy it more.D) Pegasus
-
Open like Fathom, but crowded like Plaza in some places, but the spawns are a bit weird since you can be red and spawn RIGHT NEXT to the entire blue team and vice versa. Check your corners kiddies. E) Orion Why did you remove this map? I liked it a lot… Well other than the weird sniper and damage boost spawns, but otherwise it was pretty good. What we need here is for 343i to add in old classics like they did for Basin and Guillotine where they based them off of old, good maps. Longbow… Shame on you. Laser should not be directly across from the tank, nor anywhere NEAR the sniper.
- Multiplayer
-
First off, repeat after me. Fathom should not be a FFA map. Fathom should not be a FFA map. FATHOM SHOULD NOT BE A MOTHER F**** FFA MAP! Seriously, did they even play test Fathom as a FFA map before putting that one in because you shouldn’t spawn and have half shields before you can even move! I’ve got play clips where I literally spawn and immediately thrust out of the way to avoid dying to only get picked off from THE OTHER SIDE OF THE DAMN MAP! My multiplayer rage stems from two main things, Rank matchings, and FFA being brutally difficult and often rage inducing from over crowding/poor map choice. Let me sum up what I bet happens to many people. Your team: Gold, Gold, Plat, Diamond (You) Other Team: Diamond, Diamond, Diamond, Plat 5. Your team loses from team not being equal to the other team as well as poor call outs and that one A-hole who sings or plays music through their kin-crap. Fix the pairings, seriously. Also, not everyone should be Onyx in FFA or SWAT. FFA needs specific maps to the playlist because the 3 maps I excluded talking about from the map section are the only ones which I’m fine with for FFA… most of the time.4) Warzone.
-
(Still waiting for my DMR since I have ALL THE SKINS FOR A WEAPON I DON’T OWN!) In Warzone you have 3 maps, March On Stormbreak, Escape From A.R.C, and Raid on Apex 7.A) Stormbreak
-
in short is the equivalent of Bridge from League where you push the lane and can sneak around to pinch the fortress in the center of the map. Issue 1) If I’m spawning at the Fortress, why in god’s name am I next to the Armory?! Fix the spawn. Issue 2) No, I’ll die if I spawn a tank at the Fortress since the enemy is taking that base, but I spawn there anyways! Issue 3) It’s a nade tastic day!B) Escape From A.R.C
-
Escape From A.R.C is my favorite. You get the garage, that’s your new base. However like in Stormbreak, if you spawn and it’s a mess outside when you spawn with a Scorpion or Wraith, you better hope you have someone to shoot that boarder off. The AI spawns could be randomized since once they spawn, you have to get there first or deal with the many, many people bum rushing to kill them. Not too much of an issue though.C) Raid On Apex 7
-
Apex 7 is pretty good. That is if you get spire or both the armories, otherwise, have fun running around and getting sniped at the 10 minute mark. For me, this is kind of heart breaking since I like the way the map is shaped (Think of a giant 8), and banshee’s will ruin your day if you aren’t ready. Now for the tearing of the new one
-
Why, why in gods name am I spawning with a rare, shiny REQ and I don’t even last 1 god forsaken minute with it? (Looking at you Gauss hog!) Seriously, if I’m going to spawn probably the best vehicle in the game for what it does, why do I need to spawn it near tanks, lasers, snipers, banshees, and wraiths? It would dominate early game if moved to like REQ 4 and when REQ 6 comes up, hide the hog in the card. Or better yet, once you get the vehicle Cert, never, EVER worry about getting more. I hate the limited amount of cards you get, especially at Ultra Rare and Legendary vehicles and so I have to play another 10 or so games to get just ONE. I’m level 65 with just about ALL the common to rare vehicles unlocked and I still have to be worried about the amount of chain hogs I have and I’m forced to buy 10 bronze packs to bring them up to maybe 5 or so in reserve. Just make the vehicle (Standard ones, not ONI, Ultra, Sword etc.) certs be unlocks like the Loadout weapons. Now for the Legendary A.I… Last shot goes to enemy team when your team takes 99% of it’s health out? They get all the points? WTF?! I hunt the person down who killed that boss on the enemy team and mercilessly attack them specifically because of that BS. Let there be point distribution for damage done on the boss (Except Warden since he’s usually the game ender) and we’ll be happy.
