I know they are going to come back. They do in Cod as well. It doesn’t stop people from wanting it right then before it’s gone. Most people aren’t think about that. They are thinking about right now. That’s why micro transactions, and limited time availability is so effective. It creates fomo, and it’s usually offered for a price that is in impulse buy range, under $20.
I’d also look into the availability of the BP. I want to say it’s only available permanently to the people who bought the premium battlepass.
Don’t forget about fracture events and ultimate rewards at least some things are exclusive to playing the game and not behind a pay wall. Let’s see what we get for an ultimate reward tomorrow! If it’s another nameplate then you guy can bash on me
I can’t agree, the game is free and you’ll still probably end up spending less than $60 total on premium over the life of Halo Infinite, and if you don’t like the armor in a season then you just get to spend even less. I grew up playing Halo and from the moment 343 began managing Reach, I really haven’t been a fan at all of their behavior nor game development, this is still true for some aspects but I’m also honestly pretty happy with Halo Infinite multiplayer, only wish I would get more frames on my bigmac pc.
The real question is what would motivate you to actually open your wallet? Stomping your feet and saying you’ll never drop a cent is a great way to make sure 343 will ignore you and move along to real feedback. Right now you just sound like a “die hard halo fan” that doesn’t want to support halo.
So far, I’ve not dropped a cent either, but I’m more than happy to if a few things change (mainly drop the prices by at least half).
i still feel like spending money on the campaign for 60 bucks, is just not worth it either like. the butt loads of microtransactions for items that should of been with the 60 bucks makes me go “im not getting a full package of what i want, so no”
I think the most acceptable system for a Halo battle pass is thus:
1 armor core and compatible pieces on the premium track.
A set of pieces for the default M7 on the free track, preferably within the first half of the track.
Various coatings compatible with any armor core along the free and premium track.
A coherent theme with each battle pass. Like a covenant theme with Elite theme spartan armor core and pieces, and coatings related to classical covy color scheme (purples, blues, etc).
Absolutely do not put any armor pieces related to the battle pass theme in the store. The store should primarily offer pieces for the default Mk7.
What did you hope to accomplish by posting this to begin with?
That someone from 343 would read it and be like “oh no, not you! We have to make changes immediately! Get this man some free stuff for his pain and suffering!”
The BP you described is basically CoD so go play that game…
Nobody cares that you aren’t spending $10, I’ll spend $10 just to spite you.
Please spend $10 for me too…and my 7 friends that won’t buy it either. Actually do us all a favour and spend $10 for the thousands of players that refuse to support this game financially until they address all the issues. We’ll all send you a Christmas card as a thanks for your kind gesture in supporting 343i designing, creating and implementing an unfinished game. Nice one.
I only picked up the battle pass this time because it’s extended all the way out to May so it’ll probably be the only one I’ll ever actually finish. I’m withholding judgement on whether or not I’ll buy future ones until after I see what changes they make come Season 2.
Although I have enough unlocks to have the Reach Spartan I want, since unlocking all the campaign cosmetics, I’ve kinda gone back to the Mark VII armor.
If I have understood the communications from 343 Industries, thete doesn’t exist any plans to limit the ability to complete a Battle Pass to a given season. When the next season starts, the player will be given the option to decide which Battle Pas that should be completed before the other similar to MCC where the player can choose to unlock items from any of the 8 Seasons.
If the seasons are going to be 6 months, I don’t mind dropping £8 for a battle pass. The battle pass and microtransactions are what is going to keep this game going. for years. That is what the plan seems to be. They want a game like CS:GO that people are going to come back to no matter what. And if they fail, someone will come in like Valorant did and show them how it’s done.
How would you have unlocked it for free. You mean youd of bought the $70/60 game and unlocked it that way. Well its f2p and you havent even dropped $10 let alone a full price game so why in the hell you think the devs gonna care about this post. Your playing completely for free and crying about armor prices and you havent even dropped a dime
They could just make the currency as final reward for completing it within a given season. Maybe idk. I don’t see current pass lucrative enough to spend money on. Not even a single weapon skin in it, deal breaker for me honestly considering its a first person shooter
