Update: I Am Still Not Buying The Battle Pass

Okay… go make a post somewhere else about how you don’t care about people who don’t want to buy it. You literally didn’t have to post anything but instead chose to down someone because of their opinion and tell them you don’t care about them. It’s about contributing effectively to discussion not bullying people.

Agreed. That’s what I did.

I definitely didn’t even think about that. Thanks!

This statement is a bit disingenuous, and here’s why:

  1. Armor customization isn’t about looking at yourself. It’s about personal expression. It’s like wearing a suit to look professional, or wearing clothes that you like because they look cool. You don’t look at yourself all day, but still you chose those clothes when you bought them and you chose them again the day you wore them.
  2. Armor customization, historically, has been earned through gameplay - particularly through challenges. In 3, Reach, and 4, anyway. And ODST to a lesser degree. So the armor you wore was a demonstration, not only of your personal style, but of your personal feats.

Now,

  1. All “feats” are just grinds
  2. Armor is more of an expression of how much money you have and are willing to spend on the game

Because no one in their right mind is spending $20 on a set of digital armor. Especially if they only like one portion.

ah, well you see there’s a difference between infinite and those games, and why it’s like this…
it’s free to play :3
but jokes aside they could’ve just had the multiplayer be seperate 60 if they really wanted money whiles keeping halo tradition… but no

Good. Continue not spending. I spend $0 when it comes to f2p out of principle. It’s the only way to affect change individually (besides critiquing).

If everyone stopped putting money into the f2p ecosystem, companies would drop it quick.

welel good for you you so special you want a cookie?

for real I dont think this was need to be said on here like at all

well not everyone will think like that if you do it and other like you do it thats fin but not everyone is gonna just follow along with it and instead do what they do

People who say this don’t understand why there isn’t credits in the battle pass. It’s so obvious, and it’s super annoying that you can’t understand it.

If there were enough credits in the battle pass to buy the next one, people would only buy one battle pass and never buy one again, because the credits will always be there to unlock the next one. In games that do have currency on the pass, the pass expires, so the currency is there until the next one comes out and if you didn’t get it in time you have to buy the next one (which is how they make money off battle passes). In Infinite, the battle pass never expires, so they can’t give currency on it for that reason.

I think this every time I see someone say “you can’t see yourself!”. You mean like in real life? Such a dumb argument.

then don’t offer that many credits. maybe just enough for a small thing in the shop. but not enough to buy the entire pass. and to avoid folk saving up for past passes, have the past passes premuim prices go up a bit. whiles still making them available to continue whenever

This would be much better. Another option is to have credits in the pass until the next one comes out then swap them out for xp boosts or challenge swaps.

The problem for me is there is nothing I want in the battle pass.

I don’t care about the reach armour. I don’t like the chest attachments. The coatings are all old bland faded garbage. There is not even any shiny new metallic coatings, unless you pay an even more absurd amount in the store, and those are “pro team” colours. I don’t give 2 -Yoink!- about pro teams.

They should have based the spartan models on the Chiefs model, as in size and shape. Old art style is nice, though it still needs an update, more modern.

It’s just disappointing, with regards to the customisation and aspects of the art style.

The only metallic coating atm is from campaign I think. I agree customisations seem so limited ATM. Hopefully it opens up quickly and snowballs. I’m looking forward to the Xmas event.

Like OP, I may be prepared to spend on cosmetics but not whilst it’s in this current incomplete state…and I’m not just talking playlists.

I’ve been very tempted but my wallet is closed until they show me that they are actively resolving issues that are important to me to maintain my interest in the game…mainly an option to disable platform based crossplay, fix the terrible out of sync servers, fix the terrible audio and reduce prices in the store.

For the time being, I’ll just play the game until I’m bored of it and use the free unlocks that are available in multiplayer and campaign.

Also for the BP, I would buy that if they did a similar system to COD where you win back credits to buy your next BP. As it stands, with the current system and piss poor content, there’s no way I’m buying the BP.

I think the battles passes are a pure waste of a player’s time. $10 is nothing, but when you actually look at how Barbone this game actually is, why would I waste that time when I have Halo Reach sitting in my Xbox 1 right now, let alone Halo MCC and Halo 5 ready to play any time I want.

343 is a joke at this point thinking they’re giving anyone a “deal”. Buy armor I’ve paid for 3 times already? Hello! 343🤦‍♂️

Each season is 6 months. I’ve already put nearly 80 hours into the game already so to me £7.99 is absolutely nothing. I am happy to put money towards the game I’ve been enjoying so much, and now I can unlock all the nice armor pieces… albeit not that much to unlock… but the game will run for years to come so they can’t spoil everybody.

Basically if you’re like me the customization in halo is something I enjoy so the battle pass is a must and for how much playability the game has I was more than happy to buy mines.

edit: yes some armor pieces are from reach… its the same universe but they are different games, wtf do you expect? Reach multiplayer was amazing back in the day but doesn’t even come close to the quality of infinite multiplayer.

I doubt this was 343s decision. If they gutted the battlepass, then that means they had intentions to have a decent BP, and higher powers made them gut it.

Don’t get me wrong, the BP and lack of customization is complete BS as well as the lack of playlists. But, the developers don’t make these decisions. Be mad at the guys upstairs that make these calls.

No they wouldn’t. Most would see something pop up in the store that they want and use the credits they’ve earned from the battlepass to purchase what they want from the store. That’s the point of everything in the store being limited time. It’s creating fomo. That’s why cod continues to offer credits in the BP, and that’s why they have a ton of very cheap skins.

If cod actually wanted you to buy the BP with the credits you earn from the Bp, they would give you a lump sum of credits at level 100. Cod doesn’t want anyone buying the BP with those credits. They are counting on most people wasting them as they get them, which is why you only get so many at a time.

Regardless of whether people would do that or not, the reason no credits are in the BP is because it doesn’t expire. The credits would always be there. In cod they will not.

If you think those store items aren’t going to come back you’re delusional.
