First before we edit existing gametypes let ask ourselves what is Dominion and Invasion?
Dominion is a objective based game type that utilizes strategic assets, through base interactions.
Invasion is a turn-based objective game type that puts players in positional points, to either be an offensive or defensive option. Invasion has various rounds, to which defenders are constantly trying to rebel, the invaders.
So my idea, utilizing Halo: Spartan Assault, Halo Wars, Halo: Reach, Halo 4 and Gears Of War 3 Ramm’s Shadow. I think a more interactive base development can be insinuated for players, to position their bases in greater advantages to fit their playing styles… and have a lot more round based fighting…
One mode for Domination (Invasion-Dominion Hybrid) could be, there are two teams, one offensive team and the other defensive… the base the defending team has, should have positional advantages and weaknesses… which are directed through a round based system akin to that of Invasion.
Another mode could be players fighting over bases (5 or 6) smaller but hold more advantages and disadvantages… ie. one could be a sniper nest based one, while the other is vehicle heavy… this way players would have to be more strategical in their base direction and holding…
The bases are built through the terminal… it sends down an Albatross or other similar ships to set up bases. Bases initially are not ready at the start of a match… and must be called in, and instead of set bases like… this one is more heavily defending or this one is aerial based… the terrain has a base marker, which can be chosen to be a category… so sometimes players may want a heavy vehicle depo and other times an entrenchment… in the same terrain… perhaps even teams change bases categories mid-game for how the game pans out… ie more offensive if winning, more defensive if losing… The follow base categories are:
Anti-Infantry: Sniper and Precision Weapon Spawns, Moderate Cover, No Vehicles.
Vehicle Depo: Precision, Automatic and Secondary Weapon Spawns, Minimal Cover, All Vehicles (Tanks, Light-Ground, Aerial, Mech).
Entrenchment: Close-Quarters, Turrets and Automatic Weapon Spawns, Considerable Cover, Turret-Based Vehicles Only.
Anti-Vehicular: Heavy and Secondary Weapon Spawns, Moderate Cover, No Vehicles.
The Category also depends on the base terrain… in other words, a base more commonly used for overhead vision and anti-infrantry, spawns aerial vehicles… while one on the ground, spawns ground based… the bases would have some variety in what spawns, on different maps.
