I tried to load Halo MCC last night and was prompted to install an update. I then proceded to wait and the installation stopped. I tried restarting it, resetting the console (hard and soft), removing and re-inserting the disc and still cannot get the update to install. Not only this, but I am unable to play the game at all. I like the campaigns an want to play them offline at times. What can you do to get this problem fixed?
How long did you wait before restarting the console? A few others have noted that this update can take a while to update. So even after an hour, it may not have frozen but still be running. Try running the installation again, but just leave it to finish on its own and see how it goes. It should update just fine
