The ranking system doesn’t work, so it’s silly to have it, and penalty system doesn’t work (because even if you are a good player, the jealous people and sore losers will lower your reputation…).

We shouldn’t be matched by skill but by connection alone
If the other team had you down 35-10, you should have just stuck it out. It wouldn’t have taken long at all for them to get the remaining 15 points to finish it out.

Huh, I thought their dedicated servers were supposed to take care of the connection issues and the rank system was supposed to match people of similar skill level within their region of dedicated servers. I guess I was mistaken.

BTW the reason there is such a big window for the ranked games is because of the low population. If they didn’t so they you would probably be here complaining about how it takes forever to find a game.

Maybe but in my opinion I find it better to wait a while for a well balanced match than to get match after match of blowouts. Ontop of that, why put all the good (40s, 50s, etc.) on one side and all the 4s, 5s and 10s on the other? Why not put two high levels and two low levels on both sides?

What does connection matter?
You end up having rank 20-25 solid players or Lvl 30+ nasty players competing against rank 1-10 scrubs. If you don’t care about your rank play unranked.
This is why I LOVE the new Halo 5 ranking system, all based on trueskill, and stats matter along with your wins. So badkids can’t backpack good players.
Coming from a fan that has been with the series since Halo 2’s original release day and has bought every subsequent game thereafter on day one

Agreed but they aren’t really being fair to low ranks as it is now. At least this creates a chance for a relatively even match.

I do agree with you it would create more fair games and still allow everyone to find a match without issues, but no one can deny that 9 times out of 10 a low rank will get destroyed by a high rank player. Even if they have another higher ranked player on their side. Could be interesting though.

Yeah that is true. The reason I made this recommendation is because people are claiming that if everyone fell within their skill range plus or minus 1 or 2 ranks, searching would take forever due to a low population. In the ideal situation everyone would be matched according to similar ranks and connection is perfect because of dedicated servers. Remember, I said ideal situation, not how it is now.
