Everyone is worried about spartan armor or the Elite armor but we have ignored the most important aspect… THE GRUNTS!
The most famous enemy unit has received the most drastic changes through halo history and i think it’s time to honor them and finally bring them back to their original glory.
It’s time to bring back the deadly blue grunts with their forward facing predator eyes and their evil looking elbow and knee spikes.
Update those models instead of recycling the reach Grunts again.
The models for Halo 2: Anniversary will use a mix and mash of past and present models.
Looking at the Grunts in the Cairo Station gameplay, they seem pretty good to me.
I vote to keep using the Reach Grunts, just with some graphical updates. They were used for CEA, and for the sake of canonical consistency, I’d like to see this trend continue.
The grunts look fine to me, kinda look like a mix of H3/Reach.
I’m worried about elites and jackals. Don’t want any dino jackals and ugly H4 elites.
Drones and hunters will probably look fine no matter what game they are from.
Flood should look great.
Kinda interested in what they will do with brutes. Hopefully they update the H2 models, but I would also be fine with H3 models.
Also interested in what they do with marines and ODST’s. Any models should be fine for these, IMO.
But anyway, the final product will be great!

The Cairo Station shown in gameplay were the Reach Grunts.
So far the mix seems to come from one point in history for the grunts.
The Elites looks like H4 elites with different colored armor.

What does updated graphics have to do with canon?
If anything, they should have the original Blue Grunts to keep canon. You could easily say that these grunts were from a different part of the planet or whatever excuse it’s being used for the new looks.

We are on the same boat but worried about different things.
As long as they can do the Elites and Jackals right, I won’t mind what they do with grunts. I haven’t seen a grunt model from any of the games that didn’t look good.
As long as they’re not from Halo 4, I’m fine. (No mutated freak Brutes from Reach either, please). My only real aesthetic worry is the Banshee. I really don’t want the hideous stubby-winged Reach/Halo 4 monstrosity in Halo 2. The gorgeous, elegant Halo: CE/2/3/ODST Banshee belongs in Halo 2.
I wouldn’t have a problem at all with using Reach models. Halo: Reach has the best looking vehicles, weapons and covenant of all the games. So I wouldn’t mind if they look more like them. Using Halo 4’s models would be horrible though.
It looks as if were getting pur lovable h3/hR grunts…so im happy
More importantly, how will the jakals look?!
There needs to be Gray , Blue and Brown colored grunts so everyone is satisfied.

The Grunts; heck, all of the Covenant, looked their best in Halo:Reach anyway. So I say stick with the Reach models.
They should’ve stuck with the Reach models in Halo 4, IMO. But then the Halo 4 models are easily the worst of all the Halo games, especially the Elites.

Maybe in the Super Duper Edition released next you will have the ability to switch graphic looks between every halo game instead of just original and remastered. So you can play all the games and have then look like you are playing CE, or 2, 3, and 4!.
Wouldn’t be awesome playing H4 with Reach or CE graphics?

The crazy Gorilla Brutes werent that fun in Reach, H3’s were the best.

As long as they don’t use the Reach models, those were awful.
Halo 2/3/ODST shoed them as big hairy apes, then Reach came along and turned them in to, well, weird looking things.
Halo 3
Reach
Grunts look perfect. 343 should stick with the Reach model of the Grunts no other and they can color the armor on the ranks the Grunts all are. They don’t need oversized backpacks or helmets.
The Halo: Reach brutes look like something from Gears of War now that I think about it. LOL!
Nah. I liked the Anniversary Grunts. Armor signifying rank is a neat idea.

Yeah, at first I though it was a bad idea because they were only different colours in the original, but after playing it I thought it was a nice touch.
Personally I find the Reach/Anniversary grunts to look the best.

Sadly, I do not think this trend will continue in H2A. After looking closely at the Cairo Station gameplay, it appears as if all Grunts use the same combat harness. I see Majors coming out of the boarding craft and Heavies manning the Plasma Cannons.
Since everyone seems to bring up Elites, I will join too. As far as armor goes, they seem to use the Commander Harness save some Halo 3 gauntlets and a completely new helmet. It is all good to me, but I prefer the H2A MM look more.
