I’ve been away from home and just returned to see a nice XB interface update, and also the new H5 update.
Just wondering why it is 6.3GB? I thought it was four new forge maps (few MB at most) and some armor updates - this size update indicates new content as well? Any clue why it is so large?
I’m sorry to have to ask this because I expect many have already, but I searched 10 minutes and can’t see the answer.

I think they are prompting us with all of the new forge maps and what not so the forge update is a painless 100 MB.

Ok then maybe this 6.3GB is an accumulation of multiple Halo 5 updates since I haven’t had the Xbox on for two weeks - I’ve been on holiday.
Definitely just downloaded a 6.3GB update for Halo 5 Guardians though and it does seem overly large. I’d expect 6.3GB for a new original map or spartan ops/firefight stages like in Reach/Halo 4. 150MB connection it downloaded in around 10-20 minutes.

It is the Big Team Battle update with new reqs, search the BATTLE OF SHADOW AND LIGHT update, and there was a minor update after that for campaign issue.

More than likely the BTB update. Shouldn’t take too long to download depending on your internet.

Wouldn’t surprise me if they wanted to pre load other functions. But the patch also contains bug fixes among other thing

The way you type is annoying, please fix.
I think there was a 6 GB Day One patch that had to be installed after downloading the main game to be able to play it. I’m not sure if that still applies, but it might be what you’re looking for.
The reason why the BTB update is 6 GB is because all Forge objects that are used in the new forge maps created for BTB need to be installed. And the Forge canvases are pretty big.
I haven’t loaded up H5 since I just got to tired of loss after loss in Warzone (90% losses) and the utter wrek of the aiming system and how overall frustrating it was in comparison to any and all other Halo games prior.
But if I had to guess, I would say the BTB update and any possible framework they have for the upcoming forge updates as well.
