This is a quick summary for those who’ve missed on the information about the weapon tuning coming on June 3rd.
The Battle Rifle is changing to 4-shot instead of 5, and the time inbetween the shots has been reduced just a little bit. The Carbine has also been reduced from a 8-shot to 7. The Light Rifle is still 4-shot scoped, but it’s a lot faster now. The DMR, the range has been reduced greatly, it’s still powerful for long range, but it’s not nearly as strong as it was before.
All the Automatic Weapons has also been increased damage wise, and the auto-aim has been reduced. They are going to be more powerful but harder to aim with.
As for The Vehicles right now the Warthog and the Mantis Chaingun are getting a 35% damage increase.
I think everyone should also check Ninja’s video here, pretty interesting information, I think you should watch the whole video. From the beginning he talks more about the weapons, and from 3:50 he explains a little about CSR system, and what he discussed with 343, including DE-SCOPING! He says that de-scope is not going to make a return in Halo 4, but he is pretty sure that it will be back in the upcoming Halo’s. Well guys that was all from me, make sure to check the video and give him a like! For more information about the changes read these bulletins 1 & 2 & 3!
EDIT: I forgot to mention that CSR System will also be getting updated, Ninja mentions it in the video. BS Angel also wrote this in another topic yesterday “We’re in the process of updating skill search parameters. The first adjustment goes live Monday.”
Last thing I wanna say is thanks to 343 for listening and involving more with the community.
Better late than never!
This update seemed a bit pointless to me since the only problem was the DMR being too powerful. They could have simply removed DMR as a starting weapon. But, I guess it doesn’t matter, we get the same results either way.
> I’m really excited to see how the weapon tuning fits into slayer pro
Yes I’m also really excited, but not only for Slayer Pro, but for all the other playlists too.

BS Angel’s statement to this was “We looked at both options and felt buffing and tweaking the other weapons to match the DMR to be the better choice. Achieving optimal kill times and game flow were also things we had to consider that led us to the current settings.” IMO I think they made the right choice!

You forget Carabine is getting an invisible spread reduction!

I can’t judge whether this was an improvement or not until I play with the new settings, but doing it this way may confuse the players who don’t frequent the forums and have no idea what the update is changing.

Good you wrote that then, but as I said this was just a quick summary, if players want to read more about they can click the bulletin links

I bet they will inform us in-game when the update is done, like they’ve always done with the new playlists that regulary came on Mondays. But by seeing Ninja’s video and also the live stream I think the new settings will work fine.
