Hello guys!
I usually post polls on favorite whatever, but now I am asking a serious question. As you all can tell by the title, it involves the up button on that plus-thingy on the controller (I should know what it’s called by now). When I press it, some neon waves pulse through my motion tracker, and nothing seems to happen. I also feel like this function is something important that an SR96 like me should know. Thanks!
That’s a beacon dude. Calls for your teammates’ attention, say if you get caught in an ambush or something.
The “plus thingy” is called the D Pad lol The neon waves is your Spartan pinging, you could kinda use it as a signal for help or letting your teammates know where you are. It has its uses
Pushing up on the D-pad brings up a marker above your head to indicate your position to teammates. I’ve been using it a decent amount in Infection recently.
I never really use it to be honest but I probably would if I wasn’t playing solo all the time.

I do tend to play solo, so yes I probably will not use it very often.

I didn’t know what this button did either… and I’ve played this game a lot.
I don’t really respond to it if I see someone using it because I don’t know if they’re really in trouble or if they just did it by accident.
I actually use it to bait zombies in Infection. On occasion I will use it to ping my location to friends, especially in something like Firefight. I can be kind of a -Yoink- ingame with it sometimes.

Same here! I rarely see it being used so assume someone hit it by accident or has read one of these threads about it and is trying it out. I never use it, don’t think it would help save me even if I did.
