Seriously, after reading of the new features of Halo 4, I came to the conclusion that the game isn’t worth buying (Sounds like Reach 2, but I hope that I’m wrong).
No news on ranked playlists, but if they announce some in the future, it will be common sense to think that they will bring some the classic experience for the veterans (e.g 1-50 and classic elements).
This means NO random power weapon spawns, NO armor that affects gameplay, NO stupid AAs, NO sprint, NO instant spawns.
I won’t pre-order Halo 4 untill they announce that most of the limited things they’re adding won’t be available in 40% or half of the playlists (Ranked playlists).
If there are a few classic playlists that are actually a traditional halo feel to a new game with a ranking system then count me in. If that is compromised than they can kiss my money goodbye.
I feel the same way, i mean i could deal with the changes just because ill be playing mostly MLG and that most likely won’t have most of the new changes but if there isn’t a good ranking system i won’t be getting the game i get bored too fast without ranks.
I’m really hoping for 4-5 playlists that provide classic gameplay. I had enough of the gimmicks in Reach, which is why I went back to H3. The ranks would be amazing as well but I’m doubtful that we’ll get them at this point. That could change though.

Why do you care that some stranger on the internet isn’t pre-ordering a game? What impact does that have on you?

Less players is bad for finding competitive matches of equal skill level. The more people supporting Halo 4 the better anyway.

Same here. This is the post that gave me the most comfort.
When they announce Ranked, I will buy H4 no matter what other noobish stuff they add.
MLG always makes good settings, mainly because they know that the first 3 Halos were where the real skill based gameplay was.

Competitiveness shouldn’t get in the way of you enjoying a game. TF2 is one of, if not, the most popular FPS for the PC and it’s completely deprived or any sort of Rank or “True Skill”, but people love it none the less.

Because some “stranger” shouldn’t be put in a situation where he has to give up halo because the new owners are changing everything to cater to a casual crowd and completely ignoring the competitive community when halo was a competitive game to begin with. I’m not saying ignore the casuals either’ i’m saying WE NEED BALANCE BETWEEN THE TWO GROUPS they get social we get ranked that way everyone’s happy ranked gave good players and bad players a way to guarentee close skilled games with good quality play and it also gave both groups a goal while playing to keep them playing longer and social gave the casuals who just get on every once and i while to play with there friends somewhere they can relax and just have fun.
