Decided to stop playing Halo 5’s multiplayer until the balance issues get fixed, particularly in Warzone. I used to have a lot of fun, even if I lost, but it has gotten to a point where I am constantly being slammed by the enemy team so badly that I can’t have fun at all.
There needs to be something to balance out Warzone without taking away too much from the current experience. Here are a few ideas of mine.
When your core is vulnerable:
-two additional spawns at a neutral area of the map should be optional, this will help offensive players have a better chance of retking an armory or possibly a fortress/garage/spire/etc.
-If you are alive when you lose all 3 bases, you get a temporary overshield buff, like in Halo 4’s Dominion.
-Req energy recharge increase when core is vulnerable
When the enemy team is more than 100 points above yours:
-Ai target priority shifts to the winning team on a percentage based on how much higher a team is in points to the enemy. For exampe, Red team has 500 points and the Blue team has 250, both teams are contending the Warden Eternal, the warden will prioritize Red team targets over Blue (not ignore them directly, like if you are between warden and an enemy player, warden will be moving to kill the enemy player, but swat you down on his way there)
-Req energy recharge percentage increase depending on how many points enemy team has over you, starting at say 100 minimum
Miscellaneous:
-Potentially consider making Warzone RANKED
-Do not allow base defenders to spawn directly inside a base that is being attacked (the old way. The new way is confusing and often fatal spawning right in front of 6 enemies.)
-Adjust vehicles to not be so easily boarded. Scorpions and wraiths should be able to shoot off boarders if they are close enough to a surface to inflict damage (currently, splash damage does nothing to boarders. Direct fire only) Drivers of wraiths and scorpions should be able to get out of their vehicles if boarded from the rear. Mantises should not be able to boarded from the front and their stomp needs a buff. Enemies should have to break the boarded area before being able to plant grenades.
That’s all I came up with, for now. I know it’s most likely not going to happen or won’t happen for a while, but I probably will not be plaing Halo 5 unless my friends are on it or an update comes out.
I’ve been playing Halo since the beginning, but I’m honestly pretty disappointed that the focus is on the reqs and not the gameplay this time around for updates. I know I’m not the only one sick of the balance issues.
