Here’s how to really screw them in the bum: Get your microphone out, plug it in and get the other two people to quit.
Even if you only get one person to quit, the last guy remaining might rage quit when he’s the only one playing. And then the AFKer is all alone, sitting there AFK, not getting credits.
I don’t see the big deal really, it’s more kills for the rest of the group and it’s not like Heroic is all that difficult to begin with.
Well it’s a pain in the nuts when you’re up against hordes of Crawlers but Crawlers in general are annoying.
If it isn’t already, 343 should implement an idle boot system like BioWare did for Mass Effect 3 where if you’re sufficiently idle for a period of time, say 1-2 minutes then out you go.

You’re doing more work, for the same payout, just so some guy can get a free ride when you never agreed to that.

Really? Almost everygame I got 40+ kills and get 5950 xp. My friends sometimes go under 20 and they do not get the same xp. How does it work exactly?
