I know that there are artists out there that make covers of Halo music, and recently, I’ve become interested in doing that myself. The one thing I’m not sure of, though, is what policies I’d have to abide by when doing so. I’m aware that there are these rules: Game Content Usage Rules | Xbox - but I’m not certain if they’re what I should be referencing for making music covers, or if there’s some other agreement that I’m ignorant of.
If there’s someone else I should be asking about this, I’ll gladly accept referrals.

Essentially, treat it as any cover is the advice I’d give you.

The thing is that I’m new to making covers, so I’m flying blind on this front. Figured the best policy was to ask where the owners might see it, but seems like I might need to ask in some extra places (since no moderators have chimed in yet).
Well, I tried contacting the “gamevids” email address mentioned here: Game Content Usage Rules | Xbox - on the off-chance that someone could direct me to where I could get an answer about this, but that address is dead:

Unfortunately, moderators aren’t employees of Microsoft or 343, so they aren’t owners of the game.
Your best bet is to research other covers and see how they are treated. People cover Beatles songs every single day. Should be the same.
