Hello
I tried installing Halo 2 from Steam and for some reason it immediately stops the download and says “UNSUPPORTED FILE SYSTEM”
I have both Reach and H1 installed on my SSD but for some reason i dont seem to be able to install H2?
I have tried on both a FAT32 HDD and NTFS SSD and none of these works. Ive tried pretty much all the stuff i can think of including reinstalling the entire MCC collection which ends in me being able to install Reach and H1 and not H2 yet again
Anyone know what to do or have the same issue? Thankful for any help
I had the exact same issue, couldn’t figure it out for the life of me yesterday; I originally had MCC installed on my D drive which is FAT32, but I completely uninstalled it and reinstalled it fresh on another drive that’s NTFS – same issue. I’ve been wracking my brain this morning for anything I can try, and it seems I’ve got it working; all I’ve done so far is this:
Firstly I uninstalled Hitman 2 from the same drive; might be unrelated, but it freed up ~130 GB of space (the drive was 90% full)
Secondly I went to File Explorer > This PC > right-clicked the NTFS drive I installed MCC on > Properties > Tools
- Clicked on Error Checking and checked the drive; returned no errors, but may have cleaned some stuff up - Clicked on Optimize, and optimized all of my drives; it said my MCC drive was fine, but hadn’t been optimized in almost a month so I ran it anywayAfter that I went back to Steam and retried the install on a whim, and it started up just fine, no errors.
I couldn’t get anything else to work, so hopefully this helps
