Unsporting Spartan Companies? What can be done?

I’ll preface this by saying i’m not gonna call anyone out or try to start a witch hunt.

Warzone Assault - Prospect. My team is on the attacking side. Starts as normal. Defensive team start pushing flanks. By the end of first wave enemy team has 5 wasps and 1 banshee. I know at this point who i’m playing against but a few unsuspecting team mates capture the armory thats been left on a plate for us… begin round two.

Two enemy players set up gauss hogs on either sides of our armory, spawn farming us with several banshees for air support. I’m just sat in my REQ menu watching the carnage. When that occasionally times out i’m spawn killed immediately. Our team hasnt reached req 3 yet either.

Again, they fall back and allow a few players to capture garage. The slaughter continues… yay.

They then reposition gauss hogs (again) behind our spawns. Honestly i learned alot about how the spawn system works in just that one game. But its just so damn dirty how they played. I couldnt even spawn.

So… game over. Most of their team is in the 70 or 80 kills. I’m top player on my team with a humble 8 kills and 24 deaths. Not bad. I’m really sick of these companies. I only match them occasionally. All level 152 by now, checking their gamer tags too mostly bad rep.

Just wanted to rant. Games like that show how glaringly unbalanced Halo 5 can be at times.

I’ve been in that same position a couple of times too (and on the opposite side as well, unfortunately). Really, the only way to combat them is with quick and proper coordination and communication, which is nearly impossible because of the plagues that we call the squeaker and the mic spammer.

I wouldn’t call them abusive, however. That seems like it’s in poor taste. Farmers? Yes. Annoying as -Yoink-? Yes. Abusive? That’s a bit too far. That I think is restricted to legitimate communication between the company and other people and those inside the company, and even then they would be reported/banned, at least one would think.

they practice and use the system to do just that. Not really gaming is it

Yeah I’ve never been slaughtered that bad but we’ve all had similar situations. Honestly I already have no respect for them since I know that they’ve been perfecting their assholery since day 1 since they’re lvl152. It’s a lot better then it used to be though since before you could fill an entire team with company members but now you an only do that in warlords.

Yeah, abusive is probably a bit of a stretch. I more meant abusing game mechanics, rather than verbal or whatever. Instadeath upon spawn is just a joke, and very unsporting. I couldn’t bring myself to play like that.

I can usually handle the ‘snowball effect’ of how the req system works because its usually only a small edge over the other. But when its an absolute slaughter it really brings up inherent flaws in how it works, tie that with knowledge of spawns and good communication. I kinda just lose the will when i play against some certain companies.

Idk, I just report them and send a message saying “reported.”

They usually just laugh or insult you back in my experience, but hey, its worth a shot.

I know, but I don’t want them to go about their day believing their actions don’t have consequences, even though my lone report will do little.

No sense sending them the message, just report and move on. More often than not it catches up with them.

I gave up on Warzone ages ago, I sold every single weapon and vehicle. Feels good man.

Nothing can be done.

How does it catch up with them? I just send them messages to show them that their action have consequences.

Microsoft hand out bans if people get enough reports, also of you tell them you’re reporting them, they’ll likely report you out of spite or as retaliation. Just looking out for you man.

I have recognized that they could report me back, but I think that’s only happened once. If they did report me back, I think they’d tell me. I have a knack for wanting to stick it to people who deserve it than for my wellbeing lol. Thanks for looking out for me though.

I did message the player who caused me the most misery, i even got a response!

Me: “Don’t think i’ve ever been destroyed like that… ever. Thanks for teaching me how spawns work at least”

Them: “no problem, they really are weird in this game”

So, no hate messages or anything. Even halo trolls are a nice bunch apparently. I guess we’ve got that going for our community. I did report them all, but they’re already in bad rep. So little difference apart from keeping them in microsoft purgatory.

Edit: Props to you for selling all your REQs. But i couldnt live without mine. They’re just too fun to use (when i get the chance to)

I don’t think you can use the word “abusive”. I guess you could use unsportsmanlike but then again what rule are they breaking? When did it become against the rules to spawn trap? I always thought that was a tactic with those one sided objective style games, which is why I always hated and don’t play one sided objective games.

You got lucky, I’ve had people who are more toxic than the elephant’s foot!

Changed title. I was slightly mad when i first posted. Abusive was the wrong word. I was just mildly miffed. (Yes i’m a brit).

You’d likely never see them again if you don’t play Warzone, Warzone Assault, or BTB again but that’s admittedly a crappy method to solving the problem.

It’s understandable it always sucks to be on a one sided butt kicking but sadly they are playing within the rules IMO. I haven’t read anywhere where spawn trapping is against the rules. It is best to block and maybe report but I wouldn’t and then just move on. It’s best not to tell people you reported them because odds are they will report you back and maybe mass report you back if their teammates report you too. I avoid warzone assault all together.

There are a few companies I keep coming across in BTB and warzone, and holy cow they destroy us. Everyone leaves, and it seems like in all the games I would leave I’d just put on an RP boost so I have to stay and get farmed. It is especially stupid in CTF or Assult where theres not a kill limit, so you get farmed for the length of the match. I always check medals and everyone has one or two rampages. And usually one or two players achieve unfrigginbelievables. I’ll tell you what’s unfrigginbelievable: I can’t play BTB for one hour without coming up against some rediculously good (I won’t call them tryhards) players. Unfair. Unacceptable. Needs to be fixed.
