Grifball is my favorite game mode or at least was. I don’t know if I can play anymore because the game has been ruined by unsporting behavior such as spawn killing and tea bagging. There are times when one team dominates another which I don’t mind if the play by the rules and just score the goals to win. However, they don’t do that. They hold back the ball so their team can spawn kill the other team over and over for the duration of the match. They care more about their kills number and K/D ratio than playing Grifball the way it is meant to be played. Those people don’t belong in Grifball and shouldn’t be allowed to play it. 343i should monitor the games to ensure that they are played fairly, appropriately, and honestly. Instead, 343i allowed the spawn killing and tea bagging to continue for the entire duration of the match. Three people quit from my team because they were so frustrated which makes it impossible to battle back. I was extremely frustrated but didn’t quit. I have complained many times through the HCFP regarding spawn killing and tea bagging yet 343i does nothing about it. I have even told 343i how to fix the problems which is simple, yet 343i does nothing about it. You can stop spawn killing by providing a 5 second grace period after a spawn in which the person can’t be killed due to invincibility. That will give them time to become aware of their surroundings and fight back. You can stop tea bagging by only allowing one crouch in a five second period. Simple fixes that even the developers at 343i can accomplish. Why does Microsoft and 343i refuse to do anything about players who do these things and are reported? I remember when the Xbox One first was introduced, and Microsoft announced that they wouldn’t allow unsporting behavior anymore. They must have lied because it still happens. For example, I reported every player on the other team, and I noticed that one player has a reputation of “needs work”. This means that the player has been reported before so Microsoft and 343i are aware of this behavior and choose to do nothing. Why? At what point does the player become banned? What is the point of telling the community that he has a bad reputation? Why don’t you just do something about it? Ban him permanently! You know he will never change his behavior. For every person who reports a bad player, there are about 99 others who were offended but didn’t take the time to report. I originally had the player’s name in this post, but 343i redacted the name and locked the posting in order to silence me and allow the behavior to continue. They care nothing about misbehavior that happens and the results of that behavior. They prefer to ignore or cover up the incidents. 343i will never do anything even through I have told them what to do. They can’t follow simple instructions. Microsoft said that they would isolate these players so that they only play with each other, but they are still matched to the general population. I should be playing the game instead of wasting my time writing this, but the game is no fun to play anymore due to the unsporting behavior and lack of action against it. The bottom line is that Grifball should only be for purists. No one should be allowed to play Grifball unless they actually like the game and not just trying to get kills for their K/D ratio.

First off, to get this out of the way.

No, 343i didn’t do it, a Monitor did. You know why? Because calling out is against the rules of this forum.

Now for the real problem.

Farming is doomed to happen, it’s liable to happen in just about any and all objective games since its inception in Halo.

For your suggestions, a 5 second invincibility timer is way too long, and makes attacking the goal nigh-impossible, especially considering the spawn timer is around 5 seconds as well. That timer would have to be limited to a second or less, which still interrupts the flow of gameplay because 2 spawn points are right next to the goal. It’s harder for the ball carrier to score because they’re faced with an invincible opponent.

I don’t know who gets upset about the action of teabagging, because it’s the intention behind the teabagging that’s getting to you. If you try to limit crouching (which is a horrible idea), they’ll disrespect you some other way, like meleeing your body.

These are not “simple” solutions because they end up hurting the game far more than helping it.

I’m not a fan of grifball and I haven’t played it much but I like to think of it as a practice range for sword and hammer dauls. It’s been a while since I played it but I have thought of going into it till I have strong control then only come back when I suck with the hammer and sword again.

I dont keep comming back and have avoided going into it cause I don’t want to pad my stats. I believe you get stronger as a player if you ignore and not care too much about stats. I believe it cause on titanfall I went into it purely just for fun and ended up getting a 10+ k/d against pilots and about 5 perfections a day. I even let my little sister play on my account on titanfall.
