To (hopefully) continue the trend of solving several year old Easter Egg’s I’d like to bring up the Easter Egg on Eden that has not yet been solved. So far all we know is that there is explosive barrels on top of blue base, and behind red base. The one on top blue base is in plain sight, but as far as I can tell the one behind red base cannot be seen without building a ramp in forge. These barrels are identical to the ones used to trigger the lifts in bottom mid. When you shoot the barrels they explode and shoot steam out of the top.
I’ve tried a few things, and at this point I’m fairly certain that there is not a third barrel and instead an invisible switch or something of that nature is spawned after the first two barrels are triggered. Using Wally17’s custom map that allows you to get on the very top of Eden, and the custom weapon pad glitch I was able to spray every last inch of the map with rockets. After I had done this I teleported back to the map itself and discovered the rockets had triggered the first two barrels, but could not find any signs of a third. I also used Machinima mode to fly around the map where it would not let you otherwise in forge and could not find a third barrel.
So far I don’t have many theories as to what’s next beyond it being an invisible switch of some sort. There might be some sort of time limit in place since the same barrels in bottom mid don’t stay activated forever, but I’m not sure. If anyone is interested in solving this with me feel free to add me on Xbox and we can tinker with it, or you can just try it out on your own and let me know what you find.
