I’m finding the feature of being unscoped while shot at very annoying and I’m sure others are also annoyed by it but some probably like it. I think it just makes aiming down sights worse especially with guns like the commando and all the sniper/long ranged weapons
I can go either way on this. But it does stop people shooter from far range, but it doesn’t help how far the AR can shoot now. Besides Halo 4 and 5, it’s always been in the series. And besides the precision weapons, the scope doesn’t do anything besides zoom your view in.
It’s called game balance.

I dont know how I feel about this one… suppressing someone sniping from far away has always been a way to keep the weapon sandbox more balanced. In halo 4 and 5 where descoping isn’t a thing, playing against an enemy sniper is not fun at all.
It’s a bit frustrating when trying to snipe, but I get that it’s trying to balance long range weapons. I have mixed feelings on it.
I like the descoping mechanic. The big advantage of bringing additional zoom to precision weapons like the sniper is suddenly not a free pass on somebody who doesn’t have one and you have to avoid using it in a manner where you’re going to trade shots with the enemy which brings a layer of not only strategy but also balances out weapons like the sniper without neutering it
It was a great mechanic in the OG halo games and I think it’s a nice addition in Halo Infinite that makes fighting against snipers less annoying than it was in 4 and 5.

I dont care so much about unscoping with snipers but a gun like the commando that unscopes every two seconds because I get shot at annoys me
If you want to know what it’s like to play Halo without the descoping mechanic, ask anyone who played Destiny 1 Crucible at the end of its life during the Scout Rifle Meta. Or more accurately, the MIDA Multi-tool meta. Fun fact: it sucks.
I found changing my controller layout to recon like the older halos made descoping not annoying anymore, when I’m scoped in with a commando or BR and I get descoped I can just continue to fire because I wasnt holding the scope button because it was on my right stick instead of the left trigger. The big issue with the default control layout is that you will still be holding the left trigger when descoped and then your Spartan immediately trys to rescope again. They need to add a slight delay or make it so that you have to release the LT first before you can rescope so that it doesn’t spam like that anymore.

Map sprint to A for bumper jumper or a bumper for everything else and put your crouch in your stick.

Not a fan of bomber jumper myself… and wait a second I was just going to say technically I could put sprint on my B button because that’s not used for anything but it’s actually throw you switch grenades in reach which also made me realize we can’t Evernote switch grenades in infinite wtf

descoping while being shot has been in every prior halo title, it is a small deterant or fighting chance if you know a sniper is ranging you in, and rewards the first to hit in a ranged fight, by putting pressure on the defender.
I dont hate the game at all I have enjoyed playing the flight and all the previous games ones but I guess I’ve grown used to Halo 5 because that’s what my friends played so I’m not so used to this feature being brought back in.

Because its fun? I dont hate the game because of one feature
It’s an intended balance feature to stop long ranged power weapon users from just keeping scoped and killing their target uninterrupted.
The reason why it also applies to other weapons is so that a friendly can tap the target to descope them so they don’t suppression fire your position.
I’m confused, Halo 5 has descope in it so how is Halo Infinite different? Halo 4 on the other hand, it took out descope which contributed to the game feeling overall less skillful to play.
