While watching gameplay videos of Halo 4 from RTX 2012, I’ve noticed that the community was right-on when they said that players didn’t unscope when shot. I honestly don’t mind the change, however, I do know that a lot of players would want it to revert to its old formal glory.
If this is the case, which would you prefer?

I personally like being able to stay scoped in. Makes long-range battles easier.

I agree. Keeping the option is an easier way to fight battles at longer range, however, that’s why I believe that if it was implemented as a Support Upgrade, those who wish to have that advantage are able to have that leisure in fighting long-ranged combats, while those who don’t select the upgrade will have a harder time and will have to think of a strategy to out-whit their opponents…just like in all previous Halo games.
Turning that option into a Support Upgrade will make players think on how they should act upon their strategies, thus making the game much more tactical. Plus, again, if this does happen, then those who would want a complete classic Halo game can have that pleasure on doing so…so, yah ^-^
The problem a lot of people have with this is that, for example in hemorrhage, if you’re mid field with DMR and someone is on the ridge with sniper, you can put shots on the sniper and hopefully prevent him from scoping in on you. That tactic disappears, sniper gains advantage, it’s even harder to get across a map.
IMO: Staying scoped-in should be an Armor Mod.
Well a toggle option doesn’t pertain to matchmaking. I don’t know how I feel about it. It surely doesn’t bother me though.

Armor Mod as in Support Upgrade correct?
I mean there’s only Tactical Package and Support Upgrade, so is it?

I also noticed that with longer ranged weapons such as the DMR from the RTX videos, the DMR gets kicked out of scope when being shot at. I’m willing to bet this also stays true with the Sniper Rifle as well so people can still knock someone out of scope who is wielding a more longer ranged weapon.
In the case with medium ranged weapons such as the BR, Carbine, and Magnum, these weapons stay scoped in but like desktopbarrel has pointed out, the reticule does indeed shake forcing you to try and keep that reticule centered on someone.
I really like how that system is actually. It makes it so that powerful weapons such as the DMR, Sniper, etc. arent at an advantage when being shot at but at the same time having less powerful weapons like the BR, Carbine, and Magnum stand a chance at longer ranges but still have a counter to them when scoped in.
Here’s the thing, I really don’t mind the getting knocked out of scoped when shot feature, unless it’s a team mate who is shooting my butt, then I wish it’d be disabled, to keep Aholes from sitting there and popping me in the butt every time I zoom in on a target.

The SNIPER NEEDS TO BE KNOCK OUT OF SCOPE
As for the rest I don’t really care AS MUCH .

Why would you have it as an option thats just dumb
I saw this in the E3 gameplays yes, but what I’ve seen from RTX is that some people actually did struggle sometimes with scoping, because they unscoped when they got shot.
So maybe it is a specialisation.
Zooming in with a Sniper Rifle gives it aim assist as it has with all the other Halo games. Ever notice how it’s awkward to shoot someone with the Sniper while unscoped? That’s why. Snipers under fire should not be able to keep their aim assist or it’s practically impossible to take a Sniper out if he’s focusing on you. Even if he doesn’t get a headshot, it’s hard to miss with an aim assisted bodyshot and then to switch to a precision weapon for the last headshot except at extremely close ranges.
This is a very bad change.
Also, there’s a DMR kill at the beginning of one of the day to RTX where the DMR user stays scoped while under fire from a BR. However, I also saw some DMR footage on day 1 where the DMR user is getting shot and is zooming in and out. I honestly have no idea what to make of this.

I remember in one of the Walshy videos about the weapons that the sniper has very little if no aim assist.
It needs to kick out of scope at least for the sniper…
I’m sure it was confirmed a while back that is was changed to unscope when shot again.
I prefer that they keep it as unscoped when getting shot.
It makes quite the difference especially with the sniper.
Its what suppression is all about. If I get spam my AR or pistol just to get that one shot off on the sniper to make him unscoped then by god I’ll do it. Other wise I’ll just get headshotted every time.
It really buffs the sniper and any other precision weapon.
I agree that allowing the player not to unscope when shot while wielding a Sniper is OP. I still think it’s a nice option to stay scoped while shot, so hopefully they change it as a Support Upgrade, so that players can choose to have that advantage.
Of course, this is just all in my opinion.
We will all have to see how it will work out when we all play the game.
