I understand that banished units are cheaper, for the most part, however there is a large discrepancy in damage. Pound for pound I have noticed the UNSC units being more effective and doing more damage.
1.) Cyclops vs hunters, edge cyclopes. They can shot on the run, are cheaper, and have the stun shot that freezes enemy mechanized units.
2.) Snipers vs Rangers, edge snipers. Rangers need another upgrade to make them even a logical unit to purchase.
3.) Marines vs Grunts/ Suicide grunts. Edge marines, only because the banished need a raid camp to build the suicide grunts.
4.) Warthog vs Marauders and choppers. Edge UNSC, only because of price. It costs half as much to buy a warthog than a marauder, and they are more agile and effective.
5.) Banshees vs Hornets. Edge banshees, because they are faster and have the air to air torpedo.
Only improvements I would like to see are:
Either rangers get an upgrade like plasma swords or beam rifles, or snipers no longer get stun shot.
Hunters need to be able to shot on the run. In halo 3 those crazy units jumped all over the place while shooting, so give me a break they cannot shot while walking.
If the Banished are inherently supposed to be weaker and cheaper, at least make them noticeably cheaper and expendable. As of right now they are similarly priced, but half as effective in combat. Other than outlier units like the locusts and banshees, the UNSC are unit for unit stronger.
Hunters can shoot on the run, even with the upgrade. That was a bug that has been fixed

My impression was that Banished was stronger prior to this most recent patch and the most recent patch helped Banished more than UNSC.
Also Moose you are very biased towards Banished with your posts. Your posts would be a lot stronger if you talked about overall balance instead of just buffing Banished.

The Marauder is better than the Warthog. They’re waaay more durable even without ‘Thick Hide’ and make units that they shoot move slower. They’re also better against Marines and better against air.
The also can obtain a cloaking ability with Shipmaster.
All this for the price of an extra like 225 supply and reduced mobility. Is it not worth it?

I don’t know about you but I’ve always liked the gale better than the engineer, so many people not using smoke, I think it’s a great great ability.
Starting units edge Banished? Only reason I could think of that is because Banished could theoretically grab 3 garrisons at the start but no one would do that.

The marauder might be better than the hog but that’s not saying much. Both units are bad and see just about the same play time.
You can’t compare suicide grunts to marines. That would be the hellbringer. And suicide grunts take them out quick.
So so you are way off on that one.

The Marauder isn’t bad at all. They’re so underutilized that it just blows my mind. They slaughter Infantry and perform decently against air all while being good against T3 Vehicles.
Now we start with 3 grunts!!

I agree with a lot of this, but do not agree with any of your offers for a change. I think they should (if truly needed which I don’t think is yet) give the banished more rather then take away from UNSC. But I love the game as is. So who knows.

They’re not necessarily bad, they just cost way too much for a core vehicle. Flame hogs are like 280 and I think Warthogs are similar. That’s almost half the cost.

Ah I understand your confusion now. It was a screenshot of the leaderboards - the majority being banished - but I see that it’s no longer working.
