UNSC Smart A.I vs a Reaper (Mass Effect)

So i was just wondering which one is the superior Artificial Intelligence? From what we’ve seen the Reapers are vastly superior compared to the simplistic VIs and the Geth from the Mass Effect universe…but how do they compare against the Smart A.Is of the UNSC?

Would a Smart A.I be able to hack and take over a Reaper and use it as a mobile platform or would the Reaper simply delete them by purging them from the system?

Good topic!
I think the reaper would prevail. Reaper indoctrination is a powerful tool. As far as I know, no one thing has ever conquered it. the closest thing the Halo universe has to that would be the Flood’s logic plague. Seeing Cortana’s reaction to it during her time on High Charity, for as little time as she was there, she looked rough.

I think the reaper would either convert the ai or run it rampant trying to stave it off.

I think if a Reaper ran into a standard smart AI, the Reaper would win.

However, an AI like Cortana, who has had access to Forerunner systems and the Domain, may be able to stand a chance.

Reapers are created by the Intelligence, itself an AI created by the Leviathans millions of years ago. By that respect, I’d put Reapers at the same level as a Forerunner AI.

I agree with astrogenesis, a standard UNSC smart AI would be no match against a Reaper. Something like 343 guilty spark would give it a run for it’s money, and a forerunner AI with access to the domain I think would prevail.

Ehh, I think the Reapers. I mean if EDI, an AI made with Reaper technology recovered from Sovereign, can’t do much against a Reaper, I don’t see any UNSC AI being able to do a thing to a Reaper, not even Cortana.

Though with enough time I’m sure they could actually do something now that I think about it. In Mass Effect 3 we learn it’s possible to control the Reapers. Sure, we can only do it with the Catalyst with a certain ending, but if The Illusive Man was right and found a way to control the Reaper signal, the AI of the Halo universe might have a chance. Sure, he was indoctrinated, but I’d bet he was doing tests on human colonists before they completely took his mind. But I believe once the UNSC AI, we’ll use Cortana for simplicities sake, would be able to crack the Reaper code. If Cortana was able to detect the signal, I think if she and the Chief were to get out of there alive she would find out its true purpose. If she were able to control the Reaper ground forces, she might even be able to take control of a Reaper destroyer, use their own forces against them. I’m not sure she’d be able to go up against a Sovereign class Reaper though, they just seem far too powerful.
Though I believe with time they would be able to do something against the Reapers, I don’t think they would be able to stop them. Like if Humanity almost got wiped out by the Covenant, there’s no way they’d even stand a chance.
Sorry, went off on a little thing there and got a bit off topic.

Now THAT would be something really cool to see. A monitor versus a reaper. My money is on the monitor

Reaper easy, but forerunner AI would be harder for him.

Reapers. They can simply exist for longer than the UNSC variants, if not win by their numbers and power.

Something like this sounds so real. I definitely think that a Monitor would be able to a take on a Reaper, and most definitely an AI with Domain access.
