UNSC Prowler size?

How big is a UNSC Prowler supposed to be? The prowler that delivered Catherine Halsey to the Infinity in the Spartan Ops cutscene seemed a little small. The model they used was the one from the Halo Legends skit The Package, but while prowlers are supposed to be small cramped ships from the novels’ description, the one in The Package was at least big enough to launch the booster frames (chuckle) and such. The one in the Spartan Ops cutscene looked little bigger than a Pelican.

Well, they’re not supposed to be very big. Reconships, gather intelligence.

Too big a size would make cloaking ineffective and difficult. You don’t need a lot to man a Prowler.

And the one in The Package was probably specially designed a bit, mainly on the booster frame launch bay. Just like the booster frame are specially designed for Spartans.

That’s like asking why we have different sized ships in the first place.
Different ships of the same class (In this case, Prowlers), for different jobs. The one in Halo: Legends was probably meant for that specific mission of carrying the Booster Frames, and the one in Spartan Ops is probably a normal sized Prowler like that in Halo: Contact Harvest.

UNSC Prowlers are 162 meters, (531 ft), long. There is also a Black Cat-Class Sub Prowler which is 50 meters, (164 ft), long. The largest ship classified as a Prowler, (technically called “Stealth Cruiser”), is the UNSC Point of No Return which is 485 meters, (1591 ft).
