UNSC melee weapons, anyone?

I know it’s a bit of a long-shot, but I still see the potential for a handheld UNSC melee weapon being incorporated into Halo. Sure we all use a knife occasionally, but that’s during assassinations. I want to see a handheld UNSC melee weapon that can fulfill a similar role to the Energy Sword and Gravity Hammer, the Energy Bayonet attachment, and the Knight Blade attachment. And I bet some of you are going: “Dude, is this even necessary?”

Yeah, yeah, it may be kinda pointless to talk about this, but I’m simply being curious.

Here are the possible ideas I can think for a handheld UNSC melee weapon:

  • A heat blade - A high frequency / sonic blade - A reverse-engineered hardlight / Knight blade (though technically a Forerunner melee weapon at that point)It doesn’t have to be limited to just a dinky knife either; any bladed weapon would work. I mean, how awesome would it be to head into battle with an axe in hand? But in all seriousness, it may not be as effective as the other melee weapons in the long run, but the UNSC offering would be a cost-effective alternative until the better stuff is available.

So what do you guys think? Is there potential for a handheld UNSC melee weapon? Or shall you stick to using what we have available now, or will you simply run around and beat the -Yoink- outta everything with your fists?

Sure, I’d like to use my lightsaber from Star Wars or Infinity Blade series and cut off the heads of my enemies…

I might have this quote wrong, but here you go. “A stick and two rocks.”

Fun Fact: There was originally supposed to be a Machete in Halo: CE. But it was cut (lolol) last minute. Imagine if they kept it?!

Probably would’ve been the most terrifying weapon outside of the Energy Sword. >:D

Haha yeah it would have been a little spooky especially for assassinations.

Oh sh*t, I just realized someone could go all-out Jason Voorhees with the machete.

Oh god…if Spinal Tap was “Level 11”, then the machete assassinations would be Level 20…

F*ck. We just screwed ourselves over.

Well, Halo 4 had the energy shield ability, and we are Spartans, so maybe an Energy Spear (300 anyone)? Perhaps there could even be an option to throw it. It could function differently from the other melee weapons by having a longer range but with a piercing attack that would need to be aimed more.

Also, just because it would be cool… Chain Sword.

Lmao oh well!

I’d much rather have a true Knight Blade ripped off of a Promethian Knight than a generic UNSC Machette. Plus the Knight Blade could have a Hardlight shield that uses up ammo as it takes damage (and slightly as its turned on) instead of an aim button. Would be cool and different from the energy sword.

Then again, there is reverse-engineering…

UNSC Machette is the only weapon i could think of that could be used for human melee weapon and still keeping true to halo.

Two sticks and a rock.

Thanks. I remember is was Johnson but could not remember the whole quote.

The difficulty shields have the UNSC machete on them, i’m speaking about the shields that are displayed when you choose your difficulty on the campaign

We all know that, and it’s a shame they were cut from Combat Evolved.

I really dont know how this melee weapon could work…at least in Halo.

dont see how.

energy chainsaw?

How about a stun baton? It could have a cool electricity animation to it. With two settings. Either just use it and take two or three hits to kill, or charge it up (charging time like the splazer) that would do a one hit kill. If you have it charged it uses up the battery like the plasma pistol.
