UNSC Infinity

What are yalls thoughts on and if the UNSC Infinity got destroyed btw the ending of Halo 5 leading up to Halo Infinite.

I think it’s a massively overpowered ship. It’s the size of a city, carries its own escort fleet, and can create Spartans… while the Infinity is still flying, humanity will always have hope. Part of what made the original games so serious and significant was the fact that humanity was on the ropes. With the Infinity being so incredibly strong and capable of doing anything the writers want it to do, it’ll be hard for people to see humanity as truly being on the back foot again. I hope it gets destroyed. I’d prefer it to be destroyed in the first level of Infinite. Here’s how I see it going down:

Infinity receives a distress signal from the outpost on Zeta Halo. Infinity goes to investigate. Upon exiting slipspace, the Created are there with a massive fleet. The Chief then has to go around the ship repelling boarders, much like in CE. Halfway through, Lasky informs Chief the Created are going after the Infinity’s engines. The Chief then gets in a fighter plane, much like in Reach’s Long Night of Solace, and tries to fight off the Created forces and defend the engines. Eventually, the Created become too many and Chief gets shot down. He bails out and has to take yet another classic jump from orbit and land on the ring (or there’s a drop pod in the fighter jet that he uses to bail out).

This kinda mixes CE’s Pillar of Autumn, Reach’s Long Night of Solace, and ODST’s drop pod cut scene at the beginning of the game.

I think the best end the Infinity could have would be:
Flee to the Ark, recruit/rescue the Spirit of Fire, discover the location of Maethrillian and its connection to the Domain, put down the Banished, contain the Flood presence (possibly even having to destroy the Ark once and for all to do it). Then the allied fleet goes to Maethrillian where there’s a climactic showdown with the Created, and the Infinity has to be sacrificed, drawing Cortana’s attention and forces, while a Halo is tuned/positioned to fire, again wiping out the Domain, destroying Cortana and all of her created who didn’t have a physical housing for their programs. Without the Domain, all of the Forerunner technology that relies on it (like the Guardians) shuts down.

(When Halos fire, their pulses don’t kill things living on their surfaces, or within their structures, so the heroes don’t have to die in the Halo’s pulse)

I heard in a leak Infinity gets destroyed on EckartsLadder YT page. I really like this ship, I’m going to be sad when it’s officially gone but I hope if it does get destroyed it’s impactful. This was supposed to Humanity’s lifeboat if Earth was destroyed, if it goes down, I want it to put up a fight. Even destroy a piece of the ring. Show the true power of the Infinity at 100%.

I like that and that would be cool if something around that actually happens

True but if it gets destroyed, it make the story more interesting and with more emotions link to it, and it would be for sure WHAT??? Cant be real type deal you know what I mean.

I would be lucky if the Infinity would be destroyed… Cause it’s way too OP

Being on a Halo ring does not protect you from the pulse. Also, you kinda end up throwing the baby out with the bathwater if you light the rings. You kill everything in the galaxy, which means there’s nothing left to save once you’re done. So even if being on a ring would protect you, you just killed billions of others who weren’t on the ring.

That is incorrect. In Halo Primordium we are introduced to a whole group of humans who were on a Halo when it fired.
And Halo 3 proves that an individual ring can be fired without lighting the whole set.
Throughout the Forerunner Saga we get clues regarding the Halos’ range being tuneable, so if you know what you’re doing, you can adjust a Halo’s range down to use it to affect an area as small as a stellar system.

Please don’t post multiple time in a row. If you need to add more information or quote other users, you can edit your last post. Thanks

I am hoping that the UNSC Infinity ship survive in Halo Infinite. I really want to know what happened to the ship in the new Halo video game. I am also hoping that both Master Chief and Thomas Lasky teaming up again especially when it comes to the battle scenes in Halo Infinite.

I’m like 99% confident I watched an interview with Franky where he specifically stated that you are not protected from the pulse by standing on a ring. But if I’m wrong then my bad!
