UNSC Infinity vs Atriox on the Ark

What if the UNSC Infinity stumbled upon Isabel’s distress signal and the Spirit of Fire never came? The SoF did a lot of damage for an outdated ship and crew. Could a current tech, full crew and strength of the Infinity do better?

Without outside help from both sides, who would still win? Would the Spartan IVs be enough? Could the UNSC Infinity alone at full strength actually take back the Ark from the Banished forces currently there? Do you think they will have a better chance against Atriox’s army and Enduring Conviction or do you think the micro strategy of the Spirit of Fire the strong suit for their victories?

In all honesty, if the Infinity arrived at the Ark after receiving Isabels distress signal. Not only would the ship be fully prepared to go to war against any kind of ground or air threat, it wouldn’t be caught off guard like the SoF was. Captain Cutter did the best he could against an unknown enemy in unknown territory. Infinity would absolutely have intel and an absolute huge amount of resources to put into a sustained attack.

The Infinity is the UNSC’s most advanced and largest ship, hence it being the flagship of the UNSC’s Naval Fleet. To add on that it would have hundreds of deployable Spartan IV’s. Thousands of Marines, ODST’s, ONI, hundreds of air craft, ground vehicles etc. The Infinity is just a massive unit that can deploy thousands of other units essentially.

Atriox was also busy fighting the Flood on another front too. I can almost guarantee you that the Infinity would annihilate the Banished forces on Installation 00. Hands down.

Just due to the resources, intel, size and power of the ship. Atriox is a dangerous adversary, and an incredible tactician but he just wouldn’t come close to withstanding an unrelenting onslaught by something with those kinds of resources.

No lie, you put yourself into an image of 100 spartan IV fireteams just dropping from the sky and gunning down every banished force in the area hu

the infinity hands down

Infinity is probably capable of taking on Atriox and the Banished, I mean at the end of HW2 I don’t think I saw another covenant super carrier in orbit or anything. With how wars are fought today and in 2559 it’s probably best to assume Infinity dominating the skies would spell doom for the Banished.

But then again, the Banished in Infinite seem to have beaten Humanity and presumably destroyed the UNSC Infinity… how does the Banished on the Ark differ?

Yet to see in the games, but the Banished on the Ark is the main party. At their fullest, the Spirit of Fire was able to contest them with battle worn equipment and men. The Infinity without Atriox’s other forces would be able to take down Atriox for certain. I mean the ship itself is huge, from the Ark it should be visible from all 6 ‘petals’ unless mountains are in the way.

Shadows of Reach and some of the books right now fill in the gaps. To avoid any spoilers, I will try to be as vague as possible. The Banished has not ‘beaten’ humanity but continue to dominate splintered covenant factions and where the location of Infinite might just be one of those places. Humanity is under subjugation by Cortana at this point, the Infinity is one of the only slid away UNSC forces not under Cortana.

Many more stories to come in this space.

It wouldn’t be the first time that the UNSC Infinity deployed a sizeable amount of Spartan IV’s into battle against the Banished.

It may also be UNSC downfall. If most of the UNSC ground forces are deploy on the ring like they do in shadow of reach, I could see the banished sneak inside infinity, take control and then use it to shoot the deployed troops.

Atriox wouldn’t commit his forces to such a folly plan. He would know that humanity uses smart AI to assist humanity with majority of their tasks. Roland would make it near impossible for any Banished forces to seize control over the Infinity. If they did, he’d probably have the ability to initiate the Cole Protocol, or something similar to it. To prevent an enemy from occupying a friendly vessel, and having access to the UNSC most technologically advanced ship. Not to mention the wealth of data and knowledge that would be onboard due to ONI’s high presence on board.

To top it off, even if the Banished managed to seize control of the Infinity it would take a tremendous amount of fire power and fighting to achieve it. Cortana and her Guardians would flock to the fight in an instant.

I can see what you were going with and it’s a cool idea, just in the current state the Halo Universe is in with Cortana in control of practically everything. No faction is willing to provoke her wrath, and therefor that kind of attack wouldn’t eventuate.

Atriox perdu is transporter on the Ark. In this current state, he have no choice

who said the banished took down the infinity, it might of been cortana and her gaurdians
