Hey guys! i was reading through a recent OXM article on Halo 4. reading on i discovered that the UNSC Infinity was to be in the game. for those of you who do not know the Infinity is the largest UNSC ship in the fleet (please correct me if I’m wrong). [SPOILER ALERT] according to the article the Infinity appears early on in the game.
I just want to know peoples thoughts on why it has taken so long for the UNSC to reach the chief. 4 years its taken and they have found him. what are your thoughts? do you think having the UNSC from the get go will be good or would you like to see how the chief deals with this new enemy alone?
I will look forward to reading your responses.
Space is big. That’s why.
I’d personally like to see an epic cutscene mid-game where the chief is getting swarmed by enemies when all of a sudden a flashy awesome portal opens and in comes an entire fleet of UNSC ships… But suddenly… from another direction ONI starts attacking the UNSC. Chief’s just there like “WHAT THE HELL, GUYS???”
The Infinity isn’t exactly looking for Chief. They think he’s dead. So I don’t think they’re in too big of a hurry to reach Chiefs last known location.
I think it could be interesting to see UNSC and Spartan IVs working along the Chief. I hope they don’t screw up the feeling like they did with Noble team in Reach. I personally wanted to end their lives many times for their stupidity.

When they first meet the Chief, they’ll be like, “Now that’s a REAL SPARTAN…stolen by ONI and kicking alien butt ever since.”
It doesnt interest me that it gets to Chief, what interests me is HOW it gets to Chief.
I mean, at the end of Primordium, where Guilty Spark/Chakas is leading the UNSC to “The libririan”…I think this relates to Requiem, and we’ll probaly know more about it in Traviss’s next novel
OOOOLD. This was confirmed in April’s Gameinformer a month ago.

This. I assume that Guilty Chakas has assumed control (heh) of Infinity and is taking it to Requiem for a lovely reunion with the Librarian and Bornstellar-Didact. And Faber (boo, hiss).
at the end of halo 3, cortana said that it could take years for humanity to find them, and her statements are justified: space is no small pond.

My apologies everyone who read the quote above, I fixed it. Hey Tartan, please modify it… pretty please… sugar on top…
It is Chakas he is not guilty spark.
When you get Deva Path and DecepticonCobra in the same thread, you know there must be canonical questions. lol

But did he ASSUME DIRECT CONTROL of the ship?

yes i think DIRECT INTERVENTION IS NECESSARY.

Exactly, I would assume the Infinity was only recently completed, and it has Forerunner slipspace drives, so therefore it can get to where chief is when other human ships can not.
(They mentioned Infinity has forerunner tech and the book Halo: Glasslands explains where they got it)

They don’t mention where they managed to get Forerunner upgrades for their slipspace drives PRIOR to recovering that stuff at Trevylan. This was right in the beginning and was never answered.
