front half i hope
oh -Yoink- nvm–just finished the video. Wtf
I don’t know much about the halo mega blocks but its either
A: The Infinity and its just a misprint (which happens sometimes)
B: Its the forward unto dawn and it looks different because its mega bloks.
C: Its all messed up because Cheif was in the back of the frigate and not the front so why are the selling the front end.
Mistakes all around eh?

This is the video, it’s not a full frigate anyways.

This was posted by MegaBlocks on their channel/video.
“Hey guys,
I’m happy to discuss this set but it’s not cool to get into arguments on our channel, so keep it clean, OK?
With regards to the design … this is a 343 (read: official Halo team), Microsoft-approved design. This is the Forward Unto Dawn. This is the set that will be available. We’re disappointed if you don’t like it, but we think it’s pretty awesome, and we think people who pick this set up are going to love it.”
It seems that this is the new model of the Forward unto Dawn as given by 343. I really don’t understand why they had to redesign everything in the game. And from what I can see, the new design makes no sense as the command bridge the Arbiter was in at the end of Halo 3 is now at the rear of the ship where the Chief was. So how’d the Arbiter teleport I wonder?

It was always like that. You can see the Bridge on the top of the ship as she drifts towards Requiem on the Legendary Ending, as well as the lack of a Bridge on the half that returns to Earth.
I don’t know if they’re redesigning ALL the Frigates, just this particular class. The Infinity was being escorted by Paris Class Frigates that looked like they should. So it may only be the Charon Class being redesigned.
There is a Frigate docked to the Freighter on the level “Adrift” it would be nice if we could get a better shot of the ship, as well as a possible name, so we can see what she looks like. From what I have been able to see in gameplay videos on that level, she may be similar to the redesigned FUD.
I think it would be bizarre if the charon-class suddenly looked nothing like the paris-class light frigate. Not only that but it would also be pointless to have ships that looked like the old Forward Unto Dawn still flying around whilst the Forward Unto Dawn itself changed (despite being a wreck of a ship). The whole issue of the Forward Unto Dawn redesign has been handled extremely badly by 343i, especially considering that we can see a light frigate (quite possibly Paris-class) at the start of the Infinity Commissioning video.
I shudder at the thought of 343i redesigning the Pillar of Autumn or the Marathon cruiser. That would be… upsetting.
Huh… that does look quite different.
It needs a transport bay, mainly. This looks more like the Infinity without it, especially the engines.
But to me, it all matters in game. As longas the design isn’t too crazy different in the beginning, I think it should be fine. It’ll be a heap of flaming rubble the rest of the campaign. Perhaps there was more damage taken in the 5 years since we last saw the Dawn.
When 343 approved it i think they mean that they approved it to be considered “Halo” it could also be a certain class that looks like that, but… it’s megablocks… I highly doubt 343 would retcon what every frigate looks like, that’s just absolutely ridiculous.
I’m pretty sure that 343i changed it so that they could fit a level on there, and it’s possible that part of the decision to change it was to create more distinction between Frigate classes. Either way, I think that they should have unveiled it officially before revealing the Megabloks set, as otherwise it will, and has, get a lot of hate.
I wouldn’t mind changes to the Forward Unto Dawn to help make room for a Campaign level, but the changes 343i are just too much for that to be the reason. Otherwise they could just pull a Pillar of Autumn hog run and just make the level longer even if it doesn’t make sense.
I think it’s got a lot of hate due to the way they unveiled it for sure but also just due to it being a bad design. Most of us like the new Chief Mk VI, despite it changing for bizarre reasons, but the new FuD just looks UGLY.
I think it would be a cool explanation that Cortana tried to rebuild the ship with what pieces she had with maintenance robots or something like that. I can picture a Cortana monologue talking about the previous war and events of the games (a good flash back for both new and returning players) while you can see her upgrading the Mjolnir armor (visually apparently) and the rest of the ship to try and stave of rampancy.

That’s a very feasible theory. She had to do something for 5 years besides upgrade Chief and talk about Forerunners.
