I might just be weird but would anyone else feel like Halo 5 would be a bit better if it were to have a UNSC aircraft that could be used in multiplayer? I’m not exactly sure why but for some reason it just feels like there’s something missing without one. My personal preference of an aircraft that could be brought back would be the hornet or maybe a pelican that could fit a few guys in the back and had guns like in the Halo 4 campaign or rockets and possibly a turret in the back for another player to use. Post where you stand on this topic and you aircraft preference.
Pelican would be a tad too big, but I could see Hornets. Dunno why they didn’t bring those back, honestly.
that would be great but the maps would be far too small for even a hornet / falcon (whichever was in halo 3 campaign). reach had bigger maps in invasion and lower height buildings hence why the aircraft was in it. but even the small VTOL seen in Spartan strike and mega blocks sets would be good, I know it cant exactly fly but its something new.
maybe if 343 were to add in a air supremacy mode we may see phantoms vs pelicans, banshees against hornets and phaetons, broadsword/ longsword vs seraphs (like in reach) but I doubt that will happen sadly.
Who knows? It can probably be added in a later date along with REQs. A Hornet might be good in Warzone or any BTB maps that come along with Forge. They are adding new weapons, SPNKr Rockets and tease at a needler rifle. If they can add new weapons completely I’m sure new vehicles have a good chance at being added.
343 put pelicans in warzone or BTB!!! It would be awesome to to have a mass spartan transporter vehicle.
This is something I hated in halo 4 but was over the moon when H2A came out because you could use them in forge and multiplayer.
With Halo 5 it disappoints me that there is no vehicle on the human side that can match a Banshee or Phaton.
A Pelican would be fun but the problems are it’s health as it would be pretty much a flying elephant/ mammoth and if it did get taken out. it’s the pilot that is responsible for his passengers so if he flies into a rocket that blows it up. Then an entire team could potentially be killed in one go resulting in a huge score gain for the one team…and some rather ticked off players waiting to respawn
A Hornet or Falcon would be the better option here as they both are single player operable with rapid fire capability. Both can accommodate an additional 2 passengers however the hornet’s improved capability depends on the weapons and ammo of it’s passengers passenger’s ammo supply. The Falcon on the other hand carries 2 addition turrets similar to it’s main gun with an unlimited supply of ammo making it more reliable.
The hornet does offer one conciliation however in that it is able to carry objective baring players such are flag or bomb carriers over large areas and bypassing obstacles while also saving time. However being up in the air still makes both vehicles somewhat of an easy target.
What keeps human flying vehicles out of matchmaking is their Hovering ability…something they had no trouble awarding to the Phatons
We need the best one: the Falcon. It was balanced and relied on teamwork to be successful
To all of you who said the pelican was too big, I was thinking the same thing. I almost added it in to my initial post but I felt like it was getting too long.
Keep the idea of Pelicans, but only in forge/custom.

it would be no different to a scout / standard warthog the driver is usually the one that gets the crew killed. if they were to add pelicans to halo 5 it would be air supremacy type mode where the opposition would also have phantoms along with both teams having smaller aircraft and would be evenly matched.
the pelican used would also be the attack pelican where the passengers would have controls of machine guns so it wont be as bad if the pilot flys into a rocket cos the passengers at least had a chance to get kills similar to when a rockethog blows up from a Spartan laser. its the drivers fault but you don’t feel as bad because you could have killed the guy
They’re going to add a UNSC Aircraft eventually, they’ve given little typical 343i style hints so i’d say 100% it’ll come in a free content update.
Honestly, There’s no reason for the Hornet to NOT be in multiplayer
The Banshee is already there
Hell, the Phaeton is already there.
A Pelican could work on some maps, I mean the Forge maps are huge. I just love the glacier map. Only problem is how to avoid enemy fire.
I want the Falcon!
Pelican would be awesome but it’d have to be map specific, given it’s combination of size & firepower. The Covenant Phantom would also be a welcome addition, if given the same restrictions.
The smaller UNSC aircraft though, would be awesome to use, even within the current pool of maps.
Yes, please.
I agree with you that UNSC aircrafts are missing but adding a pelican would be a little big in custom games. Maybe in warzone though. I think they should bring back the hornet or the falcon. Or both.
UNSC vehicles would be incredible! kide of a missing component to warzone but surly would be classified as a possible dlc item.
Pelican’s would be nice for Machinima too…everyone wants their “epic under fire extraction” seen…

that would be nice but I doubt it would be an aircraft that has already be released in other halo games. if they are releasing one in dlc that would be cool but at the moment I’m thinking it would be the VTOL seen in Spartan strike, because they wouldn’t release a new vehicle and not have it in a proper halo game.
