UNSC Air Vehicle, GriffBall, ODDBall

Some people are saying this is the best Halo yet. And I can see why in many ways, but in my opinion, it COULD be the best Halo yet.
However, it’s really missing a lot of things. And it’s pretty sad seeing that this game took 3 years to make, and it’s still missing some of the iconic things that we love so much about Halo, Actual Social Playlists, not a Holiday Social play list. That was just pathetic 343i. We want ACTUAL forever lasting Social Playlists, along with OddBall, Race, Griffball etc. — We’ll probably see SOME of these things show up in the future, but probably not all. They say they’re listening, and I can see they’ve made some improvements, but I really feel like they could do better with these “monthly updates” that we’re getting. Instead of teasing us, why not show us some of the content instead of a 6 second teaser.

Anyways, what I want to get at is the UNSC Air Vehicle. Think we’ll see one? I hope so.

I remember weeks before launch that was one of the biggest concerns of the community is not having a UNSC vehicle. Some even said they were usable in Warzone. No, they’re just in the intro. Falcons, and Hornets, brought a huge new side dish to Halo. Riding around on the side of a Hornet in Halo 3 was one of the funnest things I loved to do in Multiplayer. Then in Halo Reach they introduced the Falcon, let’s be honest, the Falcon was Bad A. Halo 5 needs to be the greatest Halo game of all time. And Halo 6 needs to be like that as well. But right we really want more content that we deserve for Halo 5. UNSC Air Vehicles. You taunted us in Halo 4 with the Hornet on Skyline. Halo 5, you gave us a new Promethean air Vehicle but not a UNSC Vehicle.

I seriously want to see this brought up in more discussions. We really need to get a UNSC Vehicle added into Halo 5, along with so many other things. I know only so much can be done at a time. But really, I want to see 343 REALLY REALLY listen to their community.

I enjoy Halo 5 so much. But it really needs some improvements.

Thoughts?

Who in the world is saying best Halo yet?..

Other Forums, Magazines, etc.

I bought Halo 5 to shoot people in the face. If I wanted to play with balls I could have bought some generic sports game.

Unless they add in the Gravity Hammer as a weapon there will be no Grifball.

I agree about an air vehicle although I think it is an unlikely addition if it wasn’t already part of the post launch plan when the game came out. Not a traditional Falcon though, I think the pilot guns might make it a little overpowered for the purposes of Halo 5.

I’d much prefer a Hornet style vehicle with a pilot, two side gunners and maybe transport room for one more Spartan somewhere (sitting on the rear maybe, but only with hand weapons). Warzone variants and launch could include different types of weapons for the gunners based on the already available Warthog turrets, so Chaingun, Missle Pod, Gauss Turret. Maybe with Splinter Turrets, Grenade Turrets (based on the Gungoose grenades) and Ultra/Plasma Turrets (based on the Ghost weapons) as later additions for both the hypothetical air vehicle and Warthog gunners.

Another option could be to hang on to the Falcon style pilot guns and nerf the side gunners a bit by giving them mounted power weapons with unlimited reloads instead of full blown turrets. Making them more infantry suppression than anything that is going to stand up to a Banshee or Phaeton directly while the pilot has to deal with enemy vehicles with her guns. This could be accomplished with mounted side Storm Rifles, Saws, Hydra launchers, Rail Guns or Plasma Casters for lower level variants. With mounted Fuel Rod Cannons, Rocket Launchers, Incineration Cannons and even Spartan Lasers available for the gunners at higher Req levels. The charge time of the Rail Gun or Spartan Laser could be particularly interesting to play with for the gunners, since UNSC air vehicles have that sort of hovering flight pattern. Would also be neat to see if anyone can hit anything with a Plasma Caster from the air.

Anyways, it would be cool, but as I’ve said elsewhere, I think it is unlikely that 343 is going to give us much in the way of full blown new vehicles or enemy types. Creating something like that from scratch, making sure it won’t mess up game balance and ironing out bugs would likely be a huge project and there is already a lot 343 could do with the content they already created in the game prelaunch. My bet would be that, if there is anything like that in the future, 343 would have already needed to work on it before launch. So it isn’t likely we’re going to get a UNSC air vehicle unless they had worked on one during development and it got scratched for time or something like that. In which case, we’d probably already have some idea about its existence. Same for things like Brutes, Scarabs and Flood.

I just want koth, oddball, and assualt.
