Unranked whining and woes

I really hate this time of month. Uneven match making is at its worst. I don’t know the point of resetting ranks anyway, I always end up in the same after 10 games.

I’m always in the gold ranks… I’m fine with that. I’m an okay player, I accept that. But the matchmaking is broken, and somehow all the higher ranked players end up on the same team. People that play Halo like it’s their job. Played one match that had 3 platinums and 1 unranked, while my team consisted of me, a gold 3, and 3 unranked players. Couldn’t have evened out the teams a little better? As much as I enjoy getting the unranked idiot that’s 8k and 17d and 2 suicides… not sure whose team he was really on.

What does resetting every month really accomplish? Wouldn’t quarterly be a little better?

Resetting accomplishes not -Yoink-. There’s nothing good about it. I can’t barely get a FFA match without an unranked opponent, even up to the day before a damn reset. Its complete trash and I hate it. Get used to it I guess. 343s m.o. seems to be ruining a perfectly good formula and scrapping what actually works >:(

I wonder if top level players love resets. Instead of playing people of a similar skill level, they get to go after lower ranked casual players such as myself and can have an easy time raising their K/D ratio.

Last swat match was so bad it ended up being 4 on 2 on Torque. With such uneven teams I’d like to at least end up on the good one for a change.

Granted this is just me whining… I’ve had the worst luck with matchmaking today. I’ve had multiple losses with a 20 kill difference. Seriously, just finished a match on Empire where not a single one of us could get more than 10 kills but we all died in the double digits. 343 if I could just get on a good team once today so my CSR doesn’t continue to drop that’d be great.

I actually like the resets, the game bores out when you reach Onyx/Champion. My advice to you is to get a team together with a similar skill and improve together. Then you don’t have problems with quitters or bad players.

You’ve never been a champ, just and onyx like the rest of us. It ruins the game when you reset every month and then drop me from onyx to diamond 2 every single season even when I do well and beat champions in my placement games. It’s a joke. Ranking system needs to be fixed and stop resetting all the time. Once every 3 months or even 6 is better.

Whats the hostility for? Are you mad that I have a different opinion then you? Please respond in a calm manner instead of venting your rage on a constructive game forum.

Unranked players means nothing. Why have y’all not figired this out. The only time playing someone unranked would matter is if they just got the game. Someone who is onyx every season should not be doing placement matches against anyone lower then plat. It’s simple.

I will grant you that the system is not very good at either judging skill or putting together matches that are well-balanced. But if you spent any time in Halo 3 multiplayer then you would understand better why the monthly re-sets are necessary. No one in Halo 5 cheats overtly to get a higher rank, no one buys an account to get a rank, far fewer people “sandbag” or “smurf” in order to farm players of lesser skill, and when you finally become rank-locked then you only have to wait until the end of the month to un-lock. I’m not saying that it’s a pretty picture, but many people including myself find it far preferable to a no re-set situation.

Believe me, I know. One guy on the other team right now is unranked, but is normally a diamond. Needless to say, at 26 kills he mopped up the game for yet another 25 kill difference in the score.

That’s why I hate the monthly resets. Because for the first week I’m matched against pro players that my casual -Yoink- can’t compete against. Really makes the game unfun for me. While I’m sure it’s a blast for a diamond or onyx to go against bronzes, silvers, and golds and can easily build up their K/D.

Last few games feel like that episode of South Park when Stan coaches the pee-wee hockey team and they play against the Detroit Red Wings. I continue to have the worst luck and keep ending up on the team with my fellow -Yoink- players. One guy with a 2K/12D and another with a 1K/12D for the match. Come on 343, this is -Yoink-.
