Unpopular Take: Most Will be Unhappy When They Can Grind the Pass too Fast

Yea another crowd would be upset to hit the max level in a month or less. Impossible to please everyone. Really there’s going to be someone who wants an XP dump for literally every action they do (like sr152 in h5).

I agree with this. BP pacing is definitely a thing, and I can respect that. But, I also think that there should be some kind of end of match feedback. Things like kills, medals, objective involvement, etc.

I’m not saying we should be earning a boat load of EXP in a single days worth of playing. Just give players more of a reason to play the objective over chasing challenges.

I’m really worried that people support having such a slow progression. I get having some pacing, but just because we have 5+ months doesn’t make it should take 5+ months of day-to-day grinding.

Not to mention it was only supposed to be 3 months long, not 7 months long. They extended it as an exception to fine-tune and make changes to the BP system etc so when Season 2 comes around, people like it and will want to buy the next pass. It would have still been this way even without the extension.

The way progressing works right now is the game is forgetting not everyone has a lot of time to play this game. Will they even get the chance to finish the BP before Season 2 arrives? What about Season 3? They’ll start to overlap and none of the passes will be done or even started on when other seasons arrive. So think about having to slog your way through a pass and then there’s another pass to slog through after that just to customize your character.

Like someone mentioned above, people can just cough up the cash and finish the pass today if they so wanted to. So why does it matter how fast people who don’t want to do that progress through it? Free players are already getting screwed by hardly getting anything of worth from the free tiers and the people who paid $10-$20 for the premium pass are stuck crawling through the slog with everyone else.

They should not care how fast we can grind the pass out because Halo Infinite is a fun game. We’re going to play it because we love Halo. So even if we finish the pass, we will get to customize our Spartans and look really cool and still be playing, waiting patiently for Season 2. We’d also still have the weekly rewards to unlock while we wait. It’s not like we won’t have anything to do!

You’re 100% correct. If it’s too fast people will absolutely complain. They need to make it reasonable, not easy, and I think they’d do themselves a favor in the long run by bolstering the shop. What were seeing now is an extremely small and rotating set of offers, they’d increase their microtransactions if there was more to peruse and the things purchased allowed full customization (unique armor coating being used independent of a “kit” or accessory pieces not being locked to a core).

I totally agree.

My issues have been with the weekly challenges being so nuts making it impossible to complete the ‘capstone’ challenge - and this expires with a reward every week, so that sucks.

I would rather grind out the pass and look good wearing all my cosmetics while I keep playing BTB cos the game is fun to me.

The game is even more fun when I’m wearing my fancy stuff.

Oh come on, why didn’t you just say fancy pants??

That would be false marketing because Spartans don’t have pants customization.

I just feel it was approached the wrong way. Ranks used to be 500 to advance, and even that took time. But it was enjoyable. They extended the first season and doubled the requirements per rank to compensate for it.

A better solution would have been to just flush out some extra filler ranks to stretch the pass out instead of making it take twice as long for the same progress.

They said in the flight announcements or follow up that the progress was accelerated for the flights because of the limited play window. So doubling the points to level was not a result of the extended season. Maybe that set some poor expectations.

I just think the pace of MCCs season passes were excellent. I never felt like I had run out of things to unlock, but I also continued to earn things at a steady pace. The recent update brought it a lot closer to that, and it’s a step in the right direction, but more needs to be done fundamentally with the pass itself, the pricing, the challenges, etc. Everything that people have been complaining about. Pacing is NOT the only problem.

I do wish there were a couple basic armor sets to choose from without having to unlock anything. Having basic customization variety available with the BP as a themed unlock track would be a lot better. They were so close in that regard! Lol

Yup. The leveling is linear and in 3 months we’ll have 38 topics on “there isn’t enough content” and half of 343 is going to throw their hands up and being like “-Yoink!- these gamer idiots I’m going to a regular software job” :stuck_out_tongue:

Considering it is all cosmetics and once the pass is done I no longer have to worry about challenges, I would rather blow right through it to access all of the extremely limited options for armor and look the way I want. Then its just playing games and enjoying my time.

I actually think that the very slow progression is good to prolong the life of the game.
I’m only level 2 or 3, but I haven’t been deliberately completing challenges or anything, just playing really.
I’ve only played for like an hour after work the past 2-3 days but i enjoy how slow it is

I don’t mind how long it takes to progress the pass. I mind that I have to almost complete the pass in it’s entirety of k get decent customization options.

Balanced for a three month timeline? I had a friend that played 4 hours to gain 1 level. You’re telling me they want 400 hours (depending on how lucky you get with challenges), divided by 12 weeks, which almost equals a full time job playing the game?

IMO anybody that would be upset if the pass is doable for the average person within a week or two is absolute idiot, especially when progressing the pass relies exclusively on random challenges like this game. Playing the game is suppose to be fun and it is NOT fun to be forced into playing stuff i don’t want to play just because i don’t have the time nor desire to play 30+ matches every single day for every single week for every single month to keep up to date on seasons passes that they want me to pay money for.

This isn’t the only game in existence but this grind we have to do is them acting like their game is the only game. They flat out said since day 1 of announcing this game would have battle passes that they didn’t want it to be a job and that is EXACTLY what it is, when you are forced to play several hours a day every day to finish something it is a job, hell it is even worse than a job because you paid to grind every available second of your life.

Let me finish it in a week and add a toggle to cripple xp for these crybabies who insist they have to grind 50 hours a week to finish it otherwise they would die of boredom.

No people are unhappy because

A. No incentive to do good in games
B. Only challanges level you up and playing a match
C. Terrible monetization
D. Terrible pay walls for armor
E. Lack of mobility for Playlist challenges

If someone wants to beat the pass in a week let them, if your game is good they will keep coming back. I had homies who beat Warzones pass in a week and half and they played with me all season. A pass that is compelted early is not an excuse to make a terrible system to prevent that
