I did the math on XP not counting daily challenges and 2xp. As the system currently is, if you were to do all the weekly challenges every week, it will still take you 5 months to complete the season. So yeah, it is fitting in the new 6 month season. BUT that is still a long time, and most casual people won’t reach the end in that time. Heck I won’t. I’m a college student. I graduate in May. I know I won’t have time.
Yeah, you can always go back to it, but if there is something I like in two passes, I don’t want to juggle them.
Making it too fast can be a problem, but as it is, we need more XP. Its that simple.
I could spend my way to the level 99 btw. No reason for leveling up to take this long.
Do I hop onto an internet forum to judge you for spending less than 6 hours playing a video game? Mind your own business. Nobody asked for all of that.
I think your expectations are the issue here. You’re just lecturing me on how I spend my time. Don’t you have something you could be doing besides bossing people around?
I agree, progression rate doesn’t concern me, what concerns me is that I have to jerk off in the corner of the map to do some dumb challenge instead of doing my best to help the team win AND that’s it’s mandatory to do for the Ultimate Challenge unlock.
I agree with you completely OP, this season is going until May. Having progression sped up more is kind of going to shoot us in the foot a little.
This is a decent middle ground.
We are not getting another battle pass until May '22. If you progress through this whole battle pass in 2 months, would you be unhappy that there would be nothing left to work on?
No. I wouldn’t. I’ve been waiting since the first teaser to play this game.
Plus, they’re adding more stuff on the 8th. It’s not like nothing will be happening until then.
This isn’t destiny. It’s freaking halo. Customizing your spartan was and is a key part of the multiplayer experience. The fact that so many are speaking up about the battle pass proves it.
Halo 5’s progression system was better than this. I’m not gonna just accept this like because its going f2p.
Ok cool, that’s all you really needed to say. No need to try and lecture the OP for having an opinion.
Exactly. Slow progress is fine, we have plenty of time. That’s why I think what we REALLY need is for the Ultimate Challenge to unlock at the end of the week, permanently. Then no one feels pressure to do the challenges unless they’re rushing to rank up.
And then, if we make the challenges conducive to gameplay, we’ll have a good system.
OP wanted provoke a response and he got one. Do you have an issue with what I said?
OP is right. You guys are nerds trying to rank up so fast. I do agree that the system should be like MCC or Reach, but some of the replies are so bitter and angry with just only a few days lol.
No. We want a better progression system. It’s funny how you notice my bitterness but not op’s sarcastic and patronizing remarks toward opposing views.
If you want to have civil discussion, I’d be glad to have one, but if OP can do any better than this when it comes to respecting other people, than why should I have to be civil?
The only one on here trying to provoke a response is you.
To use your own words: don’t you have something you could be doing besides bossing people around?
Now, our conversation here is off topic and will probably be flagged. I won’t spend any more effort with our interaction here. So, be sure to get the last word in. That’s what people do who pick fights on the internet.
With respect, it is that bad when you lock all your customization items behind the grind. No alternative to unlocking customization items means you grind for stuff. I don’t want to get the armor I want in 4 or 5 months. I’d prefer to get it unlocked within a reasonable time frame and enjoy it. That said they don’t have any customization to earn outside of the battle pass so it’s a cluster all-around.
Yes OP your statement is correct. Who feels satisfied when they play an old favorite game after 5-10 years but you use all the cheat codes and rush through it? You get no satisfaction. But this is currently an absolute slog that insults our intelligence.
Is my opinion bothering you?
Well firstly seasons are supposed to be 3 months but this initial one is 6 because they said they wanted more time to work on future ones.
What i think is they realised from flight feedback that the current progression system and other areas aren’t well received so extended this first season to fully rework those areas for the next season. And so need the extra time to allow them to do that.
The battle pass shouldnt be balanced Around finishing it in 6 months but it feels like it very much is.
I agree with giving more for winning, as it stands the game still doesn’t give much of an incentive to win. If anything, it incentivizes both quitting and more or less outright throwing in favour of winning for progression.
Regarding that issue, my question is what did 343 do as a result of the longer time frame?
- Nothing at all. This is the same pacing that would have happened with a 3 month schedule
- This pass has more levels. A typical 3 month pass will only have 50 or 60 levels.
- They slowed down progression. To keep the average player progressing until the next pass they increases the levels point requirement or reduced the challenge point value.
4.??
I’m not sure what they did, but their plans for a more typical season could make the issues substantially worse (unlikely any better).
I was mostly trying to present it in a pretty reasonable way, but with a little bit of a “come on guys, think about it for more than 3 seconds…” sort of tone
Well. It came off a bit condescending.
It’s not like I’m not gonna play the game. I’d just like for the devs to work a little closer with community concerning customization.
So far it’s not looking so good. And I’d really like for it not go the way of Destiny 2.
