The game is coming this holiday season with or without Forge/Co-Op…I get the frustration but the game is completed without these features…we all know you would all be complaining if the released Co-Op and Forge being buggy…we would also know that you would all complain if they delayed the game again regardless…The fact of the matter is that the core elements of the game which is Campaign and MultiPlayer which have made up Halo since Day 1 are being released…in the grand scheme of things…that seems pretty fair to me. Especially since the Multiplayer aspect of the game is free. Also, 99.9% of the complainers in these forums and on discord will still be playing the game on Day 1. The people threatening to delay their purchase are missing the point that they will end up buying the game anyways which means 343 and Microsoft still gets the money from the game…so they really could care less about that threat…Just be happy we are getting a game that brings us back to the roots of Halo. I’d also go as far as saying all this knowing that 343 doesnt want to miss the 20th anniversary release of the game.
Halo coop has existed since Halo 1 on the original xbox so no the core elements are not all on day 1. Many people grow up playing 4 player DM and coop with Halo 1 and it even lead to lan parties where people would have 8 players playing on 2 different screens because there was no xbox live till Halo 2. To not delay this goes against what helped make the franchise popular. It has been a core element of every main Halo game except Halo 5 due to 343i ignoring fans complaints.
Not the point. Forge and co-op need to be available during the height of the player base if they want the game withstand COD, Forza 5, Battlefield 2042, GTA V Re-release, and GTA Trilogy.
I bet we get a campaign coop flight ~1.5 months after launch. Not the same as having it at launch, but I think the people who are going to really want to play campaign coop before season 2 are going to have some means to do it.
It’s not unpopular opinion. Halo is campaign and multiplayer. Period. Those core aspects will be there on launch. Hell…we will all probably be playing the campaign for 3 months so it’s not really an issue waiting for forge/co op. The people complaining are a vocal minority who just want to whine about something that will eventually be in the game anyway.
They are being released technically, but also not really being released either since they are being stripped of a lot of their value and content.
This is why they should have abandoned campaign on last gen. That alone would have given them the manpower to focus on coop campaign for next gen and truth be told the next gen campaign is still going to be held back when it does eventually release, even in a single player context. Honestly, I would have also dropped forge for last gen as well.
