for me personally there’s just no enjoyment in a social game type win, especially when there’s no real level system or weapon skins to be unlocked or rewarded to you from grinding out social types. Social modes are quick so for me I guess it feels like the wins are just worth less than battle royale games that are dragged out longer. I’m also curious what you mean when you say the core fundamentals of halo wouldn’t support a BR, because I constantly hear this being said by anti-BR players but they never go any more specific than that
Halo Infinite is basically a superior version of Halo 3, I don’t think we’ve seen a Halo game with as good of fundamentals since probably CE frankly.
If you think Infinite has a bad foundation I have no clue how you can tolerate basically any other game in the series. Even if that is your opinion its still wrong logically, let me use your own words against you.
idk why people think Infection would help Infinite when its core, the foundations, is bad. Just sounds crazy no matter how you look at it.
halo is not a fast paced shooter at all so I have no idea where you pulled that from. It’s slower and more controlled and much more tactical than other fps games like COD. That’s exactly why it would make a great BR, it requires you to work with your squad. I understand some people don’t like BR game types and have no interest in playing them, what I will never understand is people like you who get weirdly whiny, bratty and condescending about the idea that someone else might enjoy a battle royale mode in Infinite. Even if they came out with a Halo BR nobody is holding a gun to your head, you would be free to keep playing multiplayer
It would feel closest to Apex Legends, but without the Legend system (even starts basically) and instead of 3 people per team it would be 4. I just see it as a much simpler form of BR. Instead of it being 10 minutes of scavenging for items that time would be reduced, the map wouldn’t be as huge as it is in regular BR’s, so it would be hella fun compared to most BR’s I’d imagine. .
I agree! when I think of a halo BR apex is what comes to mind too. A true team BR where you need your squad to win.
Let’s add that after we get our basic necessities, yeah?
Absolutely. There’s so many things missing from the game right now and even more things broken in the game that need addressing. The BR idea is just a down the road dream for me
Have you played halo 2 MP? That’s an extremely fast paced yet tactical game in my opinion, especially when you take into consideration all the button combos and how fast you can instantly kill someone.
Halo infinite is pretty faced paced for a halo game too, not as fast as halo 2 or 5, or maybe 4, but it’s definitely faster than ce and 3
I should’ve said not as fast paced as COD (which is the only other fps game I’m most familiar with) what I mean is that because of Halos TTK, you would not be able to play a Halo BR like you play warzone. One person would not be capable of dropping 3 or 4 people by themselves. A Halo BR would require you to be more tactical and actually work with your squad rather just solo pushing squads all game
COD is generally an unreactable game with its TTK, similar to siege (sometimes depending on platform), it’s a lot more about set up, but siege is a slow paced game now, as where at launch it was a fast paced game.
A game having unreactable deaths doesn’t necessarily make it slow paced.
Fair enough. My only real point here is that my favourite way to play battle royale games is with friends. Halo Infinite feels great and the gun play is awesome, but my friends and I just aren’t interested in putting the same hours into social multiplayer games that we are into battle royale games anymore. We all think Halo Infinite could be made into an amazing BR and would be great addition to the game
Do your friends like elimination game modes? Because we’re getting one of those soon
yea we do and I have heard about that mode, its definitely something I will check out. I hope to see it added to the ranked playlists as well since that’s all I really play anymore after the BTB servers went to hell
Did the population come back after MCC was fixed? Thats my point, its already losing players. Look at the downfall since launch. 270,000 players down to 40,000 and dropping.
unfortunately that’s the trend of multiplayer arena shooters now. They release with a wild peak, and then a sharp drop a few weeks later. Like I said in an earlier post it was the same thing COD games saw from 2016-2020 but after dropping warzone the player bases on multiplayer games sky rocketed as people tried to level up guns and unlock camos to flex in Warzone
It is the exact same as how Halo 4 and 5 were at their launches. Solid core (though I’d say Infinite has the best core of the three) just somewhat lacking in content. (Though Halo 4 was the best of the three in actually launching with the least legacy gamemodes missing) And just like how both 4 & 5 had what was missing added back in along with more maps, Infinite will likely go through the same thing and have what’s missing brought back.
Will companies ever learn to just release good content at launch. How long did they think it would take for us to get bored of 6 maps, 2 good weapons, and 1 ranked playlist. 343 has let me down once again. Dont know why I had faith in them after H4 and H5.
I’m glad Halo is arena MP only. I’m sure that someday in future it will be BR as well, but it doesn’t excite me. I want to grab a weapon and play. Not to grind equipment and run over map for twenty minutes only to win, doesn’t matter on the score.
Unfortunately the internet has made game devs lazy. It used to be developers would actually launch games in playable states with a solid amount of content, because there were no patches or DLCs to fix things up. Now has any game over the past year launched without a day one patch? It’s just much easier now for them to say “eh, good enough. We can fix some of these before release with a Day One patch and then hear what the most common problems people have after that and fix them a month or two later.”
Halo infinite will fail with out a doubt. The next battle pass is in may by the time that launches the Game will be long forgotten
