So I have played all the main games since CE. Multi-player wise, 4 is the most fun for me, but it seems like it’s not well recieved, why does it get so much disaproval?
Cause everyone adores the “power weapon map control” like gameplay. I was never a fan of it, I liked the fact that weapons like DMR & BR were starts because you would stand a chance against power weapon spartans.

Like you, Halo 4’s my favorite game…but not only from the Halo franchise, but from all the Xbox games so far.
Although it isn’t my favorite (that belongs to halo CE), halo 4 is an amazing game and I love playing it. It gets hate just because it was a change of pace and made by another company.
I was very skeptical of Halo 4 in the beginning, knowing that it wasn’t made by Bungie and was taking the series into a new direction. Then I saw it used in a store last year for a few dollars, bought it, and have been enjoying the campaign far more than I thought I would. Sure, there are some very annoying enemies (Knights with Watchers, ugh!), the music is quite different from Marty’s, and I may not be familiar with the Infinity or the other Spartans, but the story between the Master Chief and Cortana is what pulls me in. I most recently beat “Reclaimer”, so I am a bit over halfway through Campaign.
Halo4 is all I play now, I’ve finished all the series. But…
Nothing will ever beat beat the Halo1 LAN parties of 2002/3
