♣♪♫Unofficial Bug Reports♫♪♣

So I thought it might be useful to put all the bugs we have found and put them in one place for 343i to see. I’d like this to be constructive and helpful, because I would really like this game to be fixed. Please post any workarounds that you think have helped. If you want to complain about the game not working or that you want a refund, this is not the thread for you.

I have tried to sift through the remaining threads on this support forum and compile a list of known bugs. I’d like to try and test each bug for confirmation, because I’ve seen a lot of complaints that are actually part of the game mechanics. If you would like to help, please follow this format, or something resembling it:

> Campaign/Coop/Multiplayer:
> Game/Gametype/Map/Level:
> Describe Bug:
> Reproducable (Yes/No)?
> Other Info:

I’ll try to reproduce any bugs listed here and keep the list updated. Currently I am unable to play coop. Thanks for any and all help provided!

HALO CE

  • The objective markers doesn’t always appear in campaign, solo or co-op. Especially in earlier levels (unconfirmed)- When using Plasma pistol, you can usually hear the gun charging sound when you didn’t even shoot the gun. Not game breaking, but annoying nonetheless.- Constant disconnection issue in co-op. (Unconfirmed)- Dead co-op partner could not respawn even though there’s no enemies/he’s not in combat. The only fix is to restart checkpoint. (Unconfirmed)- Random controller disconnection. (Unconfirmed)- No progress saved when playing co-op (Unconfirmed)- Plasma pistol sometimes playing charging up sound **(Unconfirmed)**HALO 2: A
  • There’s a bug when playing Legendary where the Iron skull is activated even though you didn’t manually activate it through the skull screen before starting the game.(See Gameplay Mechanics)- Weapons not having sound while reloading (BR, not noticed any other weapons) (confirmed)- Enemy AI sometimes becoming invisible (reports of vehicles as well) (Confirmed)- After getting about halfway into Quarantine level, you will see that your partner behaving erratically: shooting at nothing, meleeing walls or just jumping off cliff. Turns out both players are at different part of the level and somehow there’s a copy of the other player spawned on location mimicking the other player’s movements/actions. Whoever finish the level first will see white screen and need to wait for the other player to finish to continue. **(Unconfirmed)**HALO 3:
  • Online audio is inverted. Unsure about campaign. Seems to only apply to weapons. **(Confirmed)**Multiplayer:
  • Being stuck on post-game carnage report (No option to back out) (Confirmed)- Maps not loading correctly resulting in incomplete game (Confirmed)- Matchmaking search times varying (most likely result of party system) (See MP Possible Workaround)- Random maps/game types being assigned to parties. I have only seen happen when Map/Gametype voting ends in a tie (Confirmed)- Rank Resets (Confirmed)- Player IDs being mixed up in post-game carnage report (Confirmed)- Uneven Teams (Happens much more often than even teams, surprisingly) (Confirmed)- Statistics (KD/Games won/loss, etc) not being recorded correctly **(Confirmed)**Other:
  • Achievements registering as being completed but not unlocking (Confirmed)- Friendly AI not responding(Confirmed but may be part of Gameplay Mechanics)- Missions showing completed when not initially (Confirmed)- Various problems with Halo Channel/Nightfall (Confirmed)- Various crashing, usually after a matchmaking game. (Confirmed)- Various UI menus becoming ‘stuck’ underneath other UI menus (Confirmed)- Post-game carnage report being blank (Confirmed)- Games completing, but ‘Incomplete Matchmaking’ showing in post-game (Confirmed)- No menu music volume control (See Gameplay Mechanics)MP Possible Workaround

I don’t know how their matchmaking is implemented, but I’ve noticed most problems seem to originate with the party system. I’ve even been able to take the whole post-game lobby into a custom game as if we were originally in the same party. My theory is the party system is inadvertently pairing people into parties. I’ve noticed starting a campaign mission and quitting seems to clear the ‘party cache’ and I am able to find matches more quickly. If you are having trouble, try this method. Make sure your ports are also open.Gameplay Mechanics

This is actually part of the original game. Whether or not 343i actually plan on changing this is beyond the scope of this thread.

I’ll reserve one in case.
