Unnecessary power weapons

It seems to me that every match I end up in, there are huge issues with power weapons.

1)There are power weapons that are completely overkill (from ordnance or otherwise). Certain weapons would best be relegated to BTB only, such as Fuel Rod Cannon (with seemingly endless ammo). It’s incredibly frustrating to walk around a map against a team who is communicating and camping behind corners just to blast you off your feet before you have a chance to do anything, and they have no chance of missing with such a huge blast radius.

A good example of #1 is the rockets on Landfall. They are the only thing that matters in any game on Landfall. I have had games where I will out-BR every opponent I come across, but they will just grab rockets every time and blow everyone away in those tight hallways (shotgun? really???)In fact, I just played a game on Landfall where I JIP-ed, the other team had a player with 7 rocket kills at the end of the game, and two of their players had 5 shotgun kills. Out of 60 kills necessary for the win, they recieved likely 1/3 of their kills from those 2 power weapons.

  1. WAYYYY TOO MANY!! What ever happened to a good ol’ BR battle? Where I have my starting weapon and you have yours, then we have a nice little shootout? I find that my opponent almost always has some form of power weapon on them, whether it’s a SAW, sticky detonator, rockets, sword, sniper, whatever. This is what happens when you combine ordnance with map spawning weapons. I’m for one or the other, not both.

Again, in said landfall game, the other team had over half their kills from power weapons. OVER HALF!!! I don’t know about anyone else, but I find that COMPLETELY unreasonable.

They had this game right in the begining. There should be no power weapons on the map, only personal ordanance and no overshields on the map. Yeah, it sucks now, you just always have to be ready for PW’s.

It’s not the game’s fault you refuse to communicate with your team and establish map control, and the other team doesn’t.

It’s your’s, and in that case you deserve to get crushed.

Also, Team Throwdown, also, Slayer Pro, also, Legedary Slayer. All of the latter disable/severely limit Personal Ordinance, which lessens power weapon spam.

So really, I don’t see what your problem is.

I don’t refuse to communicate with my team. Often I’m the only one on my team with a microphone.

> I don’t refuse to communicate with my team. Often I’m the only one on my team with a microphone.

Still not the game’s fault.

In gametypes with Personal Ordinance, it is NEVER the player’s fault if an enemy has a PW. It’s ridiculous to say that. Stop acting condescending.

Yes, the OP should be able to time the weapons himself and pick them up, but there are so many exceptions to this that it becomes unfair. Random weapon spawns are one example - you can’t time them because they spawn randomly. Personal Ordinances are another.

Play Throwdown or Slayer Pro, or Objective gametypes without Ordinance.

Most of the time the PODs are what create the problem of too many power weapons on the map. If they left maps to only snipe/rockets per map it’d be much better. Sticky det is waaaaaaaaaaat OP and railgun is just about easiest gun in game.

If not snipe/rocks it should be at least snipe/rail.

Also 2 snipes in the game when controlled by other team is just stupid OP. Granted I believe it takes skill/strategy to keep control of both snipers but it happens so often. It’d be nice to see reduced to one mag - 4 bullets (can’t remember current clip size) or just make it one sniper per map on dispatch/abandon (reduce to 4 shots on adrift)

I do agree that there are simply too many power weapons.

To be honest, a lot of the problem is Personal Ordinance, and the fact that Infinity Drops don’t allow the devs to tweak the amount of ammo you get for weapons. The Landfall Rockets, for instance, should only come with 2 shots. The Solace Fuel Rod should come with 10 tops.

And then for whatever reason the Needler only has 3 kills worth of ammo?.. It’s just silly the disproportionate ammo.

PODs are the problem, what they should do is make PODs only drop OV, DMG boost and speed boost. i beleive that would solve alot of the problems with PODs. or make them what i said above but only one power up per OD, for example Left: frags Middle, randomly OV DMG or speed boost Right: Pulse nades that would be better than random outcomes, reguardless if the middle choice is random you only have 3 possibilities and its not a weapon but a power up

Players never use mics to communicate with each other.

You can’t make that argument on landfall where rockets spawn every two minutes in the center of the map. On Haven I’ll give you, but many of the DLC maps have static respawns on them.

Ugh.

Ignoring personal ordnance, there’s nothing wrong with the amount of power weapons on Landfall.

Only thing wrong with power weapons is the fact that most of them randomly spawn. If they were made predictable, that would almost completely restore the map control aspect to Halo 4. If PODs must stay it should be lower tier power weapons at most. Stuff like the concussion rifle, sword, both shotguns, needler, maybe the railgun.

Quite frankly the OP just sounds mad that he’s not the one with the power weapons.

You serious? you prefer everyone to have a power weapon instead of fighting for the ones that are in the map? that’s better? if you say so.
