With this new update we got the anti air wraith and sentinel beam which are completely different from previous designs, now I’m wondering are they changing designs and looks of these and other things like the arbiter and his elites or the br to differentiate themselves from bungie,or just because they feel like it?

Edited.
I misunderstood the OP.

The design is almost entirely different. The AA Wraith uses a Type-58 body, rather than a Type-26/52. The Sentinel Beam is also quite different from the original.
Edit: This post can be ignored.
While I like the Sentinel Beam’s older design more, aren’t they taken and designed from different Sentinels? Aggressor vs Safeguard? If so, then it makes sense that it looks different (that and the focus on Prometheans)
The AA Wraith is because we’re using the SoS version of a newer “generation” of Wraiths, like the Sword Banshee and the Sword Ghost.
Over the course of war designs change as who ever is making them change. why would the arbiter want to keep using the same armor over and over. perhaps it was damaged or maybe it was upgraded or he just wanted to look different. same goes for vehicles and weapons.

My eyes some how completely skipped the multiple times he says “design”. I somehow interpreted it as him saying that 343 added in the AA wraith and the sentinel beam in because they want to differentiate themselves from Bungie, which confused me considering both have been in Bungies Halos. It seemed silly to me that he would say that but I didn’t read it for a second time until I posted my reply. Derp.

It’s not Arbiter armor anymore, it’s Kaidon armor.
The new design looks way better i love 343i art team.
They didn’t change the Reach grenade launcher so I think the AA wraith and Sentinel Beam are fine.

Also while we still call him the Arbiter he really isn’t an Arbiter any more since he isn’t really part of the Covenant with the prophets and all.

…wow
I am pretty sure they changes the Anti air Wraith due to new design we have in Halo 5 and I think they changed the Sentinal Beam due to that Promethains can hold it better or something because Sentinal Beams were just built in the Sentinals.

A lot of changes were just necessary. A lot of old vehicles and weapons were just plain and dated looking in my opinion. I’ve been playing halo since CE launch and us old halo gamers tend to mix up nostalgic feelings with a better upgrade.
I still haven’t seen the air wraith in action. Any good?

The position of Arbiter was a leadership position, like a cross between a judge and king, in early Sangheili culture before the Prophets subjugated them. Then the Prophets turned the position into one given to disgraced Elites to regain their honor through suicide missions. This was done to tarnish the title and the legacy of the Arbiter who resisted the Prophets during the Prophet-Sangheili war.

It’s pretty good, and its turret wrecks infantry if they’re not careful - more so than the base wraiths. Plus, the turret’s shielded! The mortar’s shots track aircraft too, so it lives up to that role of an Anti-Air vehicle.

Oh yes. Been using it in wzff. It recks air targets something awful. Not so effect on ground targets but the guns can pump out a lot of green fuel roads like no tomorrow, so useful on that front too.
Chalk it down to artistic license. That, and it gives them the opportunity to release the original Sentinel Beam design as a REQ variant (Ultra Rare Halo 2 Sentinel Beam, now with more beaminess! ugh).
Just like with the rocket launcher, which the original SPNKR design was scrapped for a model that is reminiscent of modern RPGs. And then people complained so much that they gave us back the SPNKR (or maybe 343i always planned for that, but I don’t think that’s the case).
Did people question the Wraith changes from Halo CE to Halo 2, and Halo 2 to Halo 3? There were major changes done there, and as far as I was concerned each new model was just closer to what the devs wanted the Wraith to originally be, but were limited by gaming technology

I’m probably one of the few that likes the Pilum rocket launcher (the new one) over the SPNKR. I mean comon, someone would be tripping over all the discarded rocket launcher tubes with the SPNKR. Pilum is far less cumbersome to use.

“Better” is just an opinion, but I do agree with you. In this current generation of reboots and nostalgia, I can’t stand when people criticize something just because it’s not the same when they were a kid.
If designs and mechanics remained exactly the same, the franchise would be stale. And yes, that includes sprint. Sprint and spartan abilities bring a whole new dimension to the gameplay. Those who complain when it’s not the exact same as their glorious nostalgic bias games can just go play those games instead.
CoD doesn’t own sprint. Sprint has existed in games before CoD existed.
